Happy Earth Month everyone! 

Spring is in the air and this Earth Month, we’ve decided to do something BIG that benefits our local community, our MFF family, and the planet.  We are working with Clinton Housing Development Co. and the Hell’s Kitchen Neighborhood Association to turn the abandoned lot which is located next door to our ever-expanding Clubhouse on 39th Street, into a park. Wah? Yes! An effin’ park!

Why?

We are always looking for new ways to make our community and planet better.  Embracing community has always been one of our core values.  So when CHDC approached us to partner with them and HKNA to convert this green space into a park, we said “fuck yes!”

There are SO MANY great reasons to convert that abandoned lot into a usable green space and each contributed to our decision to move forward with this project: the potential for outdoor yoga on the weekends, a place for ninjas and trainers alike to hang in the warm weather, to give back to our local neighborhood (we heard that a teacher at a Head Start program around the corner takes her 4 years olds to Port Authority to let off steam because she has nowhere else to bring them! NO, NO, NO! THIS CANNOT BE!), to plant beautiful trees and shrubbery enhancing the aesthetics and air quality of our neighborhood.

Ninjas Mobilize!

Today we are launching a crowd funding campiagn, that will run for the entire month of April, to help us raise the necessary funds to make this green space functional and fantastic. Eventually, we’ll need volunteers to help with the planting and building, but for now, we need CASH!

If you feel passionately about preserving our city’s green spaces please donate whatever you can.  It will be running for the duration of April so, NINJAS MOBILIZE! Please also help us spread the word to your networks. We have lots of great giveaways for each level of giving, so give at whatever level feels realllllll good.

We wouldn’t be what we are without you, Ninjas!  We need your help to make this ambitious project a BIG, MFF-style success!
