"He loves his body..... It's just not finished yet"
Modify me is the 18 month long journey
of discovery by acclaimed director of āon tender hooksā Kate Shenton,
as she follows Tam Smith as he transforms his body through artificial
and natural modification processes, including (but not
limited to), full body suit tattoos, tongue split, magnetic implants,
nipple removal, chest implants, amputation, scarification, branding and a
lot more.
The
film will document the changes as he builds up his body physically
before undergoing all the procedures that are to follow. It will not be
an easy journey for tam, who in is own words, knows this:
āMost
of the procedures that I will go through in āModify Meā are permanent,
completely irreversible and like it or not, they will change how my
friends, family and employees will see me. I am fully aware of just how
much physical pain, discomfort and emotional stress I will be putting
myself through over the next 18 months. There is some risk involved
doing so much so quickly, as this will weaken my immune system, the
constant pain will be hard to deal with psychologically so there is a good chance I will be ill quite often through this project.ā
This
documentary will be a huge experience not only for Tam, but for Kate
and the various people involved in piercing, tattooing, cutting and modifying his body.
We are looking for Ā£20 000 funding to start filming, it will go towards
1) Equipment
2) Transport
3) The
initial procedures for the first three months of filming;(this is the
most crucial part of the project where Tam will begin his full body
transformation)
YOUR HELP
This
kind of project has never been attempted on this scale before; Tam will
not only be changing the way he looks, but also the way that others
will be looking at him. It will be a life changing transformation that
we will have a unique opportunity to document from start to finish,
offering a view into a world most people barely know exist. Like āon
tender hooksā, this is more than just about following people around with
a camera, itās about joining people on an extreme journey that so few
people dare choose to tread.
