Hey guys, Austin here.

I need to get a new camera.

Starting a company from scratch is certainly no easy task. It takes the blood and tears of the business owner to make the dream a reality. A lot of hard work, time, dedication, and especially money are necessary to make it to the first anniversary. As everyone knows, new business owners are the last to be paid during the first years of any start-up because every extra dollar goes back into the company.

Accepting donations was a difficult decision, but here I am. I just figured, for probably the first time ever, I would reach out to you guys and see where we ended up. Regardless of the final amount donated, every cent donated here WILL go towards the purchase of a new camera- because that's my goal here.

I know my goal amount seems high (because it is). Until about a year ago, I had no idea how expensive quality camera equipment was. A lot of the time, lenses are equally or more expensive than the body itself. With my slow growing passion for photography, and the long lifetime of most equipment of this sort, the prices make sense. This is also something I'll be able to use for my personal use, as that's something I'd also like to pursue in the future.

Now that you know the why, here's the what. I've done a little research and have decided to go with the Canon 5D mark III(<-link). The body runs about $3500, and a good lens around $1500 (I haven't decided on an exact one yet since there are so many options). I'm currently using a Nikon D5100 (<-link) so this would be a big upgrade. It would also significantly increase the quality of our images.

This could be a long process, or I could soon be taking even better photos for the site very soon. Either way, I think it goes without saying that any help isEXTREMELY appreciated. Regardless of the amount donated at the end, I will be thinking of something that I can do to thank everyone when the time comes. This is to assist in the development and growth of my business.
