Where does this story come from?
NARCISSIST is born from a painful heartbreak … a heartbreak feeling like one’s soul was psychologically raped, discarded, and left feeling worthless. But without pain there is never any strength, and without strength there is never anything truly accomplished or learned. It’s true, what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
Why tell this story?
Having a relationship or involvement with a narcissist is something hard to comprehend. By the end of it, one often asks, “Where did the person I first meet go?” Accepting the truth that he/she never really cared, and that it was all just a lie is the toughest pill to swallow. After extensive research on the subject matter of narcissistic personality disorder, creator Eric Casaccio was astounded and fascinated with the amount of people who suffered from this kind of situation, healed, returned to their happy selves, and ended up in a much better situation. This story shows all of that in just nine and a half pages!
Who is behind this project?
Being able to tell stories from the heart is a gift … a gift that succeeds by touching others who can relate to certain subject matters. Writer / Director Eric Casaccio’s breakout film FREAK (www.freakthefilm.com) is a story of self-acceptance that emotionally moved all kinds of audiences around the world garnering several awards and critical acclaim. He is very excited to be collaborating with Steven Tylor O’Connor (www.stoc.biz), a talented filmmaker with two successful short films, A FAIRY TALE and WELCOME TO NEW YORK. O’Connor is using all his knowledge in an organized creative producer approach that is nothing but valued. The lead part of Evan has been specifically written for Hunter Lee Hughes, an artist who wrote, co-produced, acted, and directed the hit web series DUMBASS FILMMAKERS (http://dumbassfilmmakers.com/), and the acclaimed short film WINNER TAKES ALL. Eric met both Steven and Hunter on the film festival circuit, and considers working with them a fun, responsible, and magical experience.
The Impact
After getting out of a relationship or situation with a narcissist, the post traumatic stress can leave one feeling like a vampire sucked the life out of them without any empathy at all. Within this story, the hero (Evan) is made to feel like the most special guy in the world, until he realizes his love interest (Rob) is merely getting off on playing with his mind. During the research phase, Casaccio found many individuals who experienced heartbreak like this. Some have even ended their lives. The goal of this project is to show the world how one can improve their life, and once healed, end up in an authentic loving relationship. Sometimes you have to go through darkness to find a true authentic light.
What We Need & What You Get
Creating a movie takes a lot of passion, knowledge, and most of all, teamwork. After doing a script breakdown, we came up with a detailed budget for a three-day shoot. Since everyone on this production knows how to work from the heart responsibly, we have no doubt that our final product will be nothing but of the utmost quality.
