At the beginning of each episode, Officer Ron Robinson will be assigned a new partner. By the end, that partner will be murdered.
NEW PARTNER is a comedic web series skewering the grandest of cop movie cliches -- getting assigned a new partner. There is so much inherent comedy in that simple "odd couple" premise, so we have written a show about an incompetent cop who is constantly getting paired up with an assortment of hilarious new partners...because he keeps getting them killed.
We have our first three "new partners" cast. They are: WAYNE KNIGHT (Seinfeld, Jurassic Park, The Exes), JOSH FADEM (30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Key and Peele) and SASHA SPIELBERG (http://rocnation.com/artists/wardell).
With your help, we plan to make the first
three episodes - each of which will run approx. 5min - so that we can pitch
the show to various backers, websites and networks with the hopes of finding
a home for New Partner.
Aside from the concept + the unbelievably
funny jokes we have written, the fun of our show will be in the CELEBRITY
CAMEOS. Ideally, each new partner will be played by a recognizable face
portraying an outrageous character. New Partner is an episodic web
series that also functions as a cameo vehicle - in the tradition of Saturday
Night Live or Funny or Die.
NICK SEARCY (Fried Green
Tomatoes, The Fugitive, Justified) will play "Captain Kirk
Williams", the no-nonsense police chief responsible for assigning
"Officer Ron Robinson" (JOSH MARGOLIN - New Girl, Hot in Cleveland) his new partners. Williams
will be accompanied by his trusty, crippled side-kick "Scraps Magoo"
(QUINN BESWICK - Return to Neverland, It's the Pied Piper, Charlie Brown).
A little more about us + our team
Where are our manners?! My name is Josh Margolin and my name is Quinn Beswick. We're writing this together...we hope that's cool. We met at Harvard-Westlake High School back in 2005 and have been collaborating creatively ever since. I (Josh) went to Wesleyan University where I studied theater and film. And I (Quinn) went to Emerson College where I received a B.F.A. in acting.
The project will be produced by Charlie Alderman, whose last web series, Chloe + Zoe, was named "Best of 2012" by Indiewire.
It will be directed by James Gallagher (The Last Five Years, That's My Boy, Chloe + Zoe).
Why we need what we need + what you
get!
In the past, we have funded all of our own
projects, but this one is a little different. In order to do this right, we
will need a variety of SETS, PROPS, and VISUAL EFFECTS, all of which cost a bit
more than we can cover alone.
Our "perks" may be silly, but
don't think for one second we won't take you to that cheeseburger dinner. We're
making a list of restaurants at this very moment and they...are...decent.
Our charming company, however, is ABOVE average.
Let's just say...you're not gonna have a bad time.
Your contributions, no matter how small,
are greatly appreciated.

Other ways you can help
Even if you don't feel you can contribute
but you'd like to help, please SHARE this link on Facebook, Twitter, email,
etc. The wider the net, the more likely we will get where we need to be. Spreading the word is greatly appreciated as well.
Thank you for reading about our project
and taking the time to see if New Partner is something you believe in as
much as we do.
Sincerely,
Josh Margolin & Quinn Beswick
