No Shade is a LGBT dramedy web series based in NYC which follows the life of Noel Baptise. A socially awkward artist from Brooklyn, NY who’s learning to be comfortable with his sexuality while embracing the lifestyle. With the help of his 3 young eccentric city dreamer friends. Promiscuous Bar Manager Eric D Stone, Homeless Dance Teacher Kori Jacobs and Hopeful Romantic Danielle Williams, he quickly finds out how Shady things can get.

Why we need your help

At the moment we are working with no buget. Its very difficult to produce quality projects with limited resources. We have the talent and skills to create awesome work, we just dont have the equipment. Gorilla work is cool, but there comes a time when we need to excel in everything that we do and I beleive the time is now.

During pre, main and post production We will need to reserve a variety of locations that we can’t get for free and pay for all the necessary NYC permits and we also need to feed and transport the cast and crew through various locations in NYC. The cost of buying/renting and insuring quality camera, lighting, and sound equipment will be substantial.

Letter to Fans & Supporters

So I decided to write to you guys, the fans about where I am with the No Shade project. First off I just want to say, THANK YOU!!! You guys are so amazing for being a part of this journey with me as I unfold this story. My goal is to be consistent and put out high quality work bi-weekly. This is a commitment that I and the team at Bluntedmuse Productions have made. It’s a challenge but we love what we do. We’re up to episode 5 and I’m loving the feedback so far about the show, you guys are really getting to understand who the characters are and where they stand. I decided to release episode 6 a month later to give myself and the team a necessary break and also to catch up for the 2nd half of Season 1.

I don’t want to paint a picture that this process has been a walk in the park, we release every 2 weeks… let me repeat… EVERY TWO WEEKS. Imagine having to schedule actors, secure locations, secure outfits, schedule MUA’s/ Hair Artist, and shoot and edit a whole episode in 2 weeks time to release. Now I’m not trying to put the burden on you guys… again, I LOVE WHAT I DO!!! But resources are slowly being drained. Editing has become a challenge due to the fact that my computer is running out of space. I’m not using a commercial grade computer; I also use it for personal use. Locations are not easy to come by, due to the nature of the scenes most of the locations will have to be rented out.

There’s so much more but we always pull through and deliver. I decided to create this indiegogo campaign to relieve some of this pressure. With your contribution it can help us enhance the quality of the No Shade experience including longer episodes, better sound quality, merchandise, wardrobe, equipment, etc. No donation is too small, as little as $5 would be a great deal of help. Your donation does not only have to be monetary, you can donate services as well, we’re looking for stylists who have access to garments, hairstylist, camera men, productions assistants, assistant directors, personal assistant, social media managers, image consultants, etc. So if you’re in the NYC area and can commit to helping us out please email info@bluntedmuse.com

Actors

David Brandyn is an actor and writer residing in New York City. Besides the amazing experience and opportunity to star as Noel on NO SHADE, David acts in and writes live and web content with his improv/sketch group, Locomotives.  He loves bike riding, kung fu flicks, and flavored coffee.

Terry Torro is a multi passionate artist from Brooklyn, NY. As a child he always found different ways to express himself whether it be drawing, writing, dancing or even singing. Having a strong connection with music, in his teens he started DJ’ng and music production. Although people knew Terry for art and music he still ventured out into many other art forms ranging from photography to voice acting. In 2011 he teamed up with Blunted Muse Productions who produced videos skits for Donnie Duright such as Goons vs Gays 1-6 and Starkeisha ‘s Paternity test. He’s also worn the hat of director and co editor in a few projects as well. Terry prides himself in being eccentric and is always ready for a creative challenge to come his way.

Donnie DuRight is a Writer and Sketch Comic, online personality, and Recording artist. Lending is comedic ability the series “No Shade”, Donnie serves as character “Kori Jacobs”. Outside of this online web series, Donnie Writes, stars, and produces 3 of his own successful web series on his YouTube Channel (donnieduright). Donnie is New York based performer with a BA in performing arts always nurturing and developing his talents.

Tamara Williams, is an actress/ dancer that hails from The big apple (New York City). In addition to being the only female co-star of The Webseries “No Shade”, she also acts in skits and plays with the Bronx Hit Squad, along with being apart of The Hetrick Martin Institute’s theater program. She studies theater and acting at Borough of Manhattan community college.
