No Sherbet
No Sherbet is a short film I have written based on a real-life incident that happened to me in Stroud when I was buying ice cream for my children from an ice cream van and got into 'an ugly altercation' with the man selling the ice cream!
I want to make this film in Stroud with local crew and local actors. There is a wealth of talent in these Cotswold Hills and I have international celebrated actor Keith Allen signed up for the main part.
But we need help to raise the money to make it!
What We Need & What You Get
We need £15,000 to make this film. This is a bare minimum. Keith Allen has kindly offered to waive any fee. The budget is needed to do things like acquire an ice cream van (I'm trying to avoid spoilers but let's just say that van will not be usable afterwards!!), pay others actors, cinematographer, equipment hire, crew, catering, stunt co-ordinator, locations permits and for the post-production costs including editing and so on. Oh, and ice cream.
But you won't be giving your hard-earned cash away for nothing! We have many rewards and perks that will make this a much more attractive proposition - including signed posters, downloads of the film, invitations to a world premier private screening, executive producer credits and maybe even a part in the film!!
The Impact
This film will be a real community effort - benefitting all those who take part in making the film, as well as the Stroud community at large that can be proud of a project that showcases 100% local talent.
This is a strong script that will be shot in an a cinematic way with the intention of being accepted into international film festivals. The story is a simple and universal one, based on a personal experience, with which everyone can empathise.
