ONCE IN A BLUE MOON - Independent Short Film
When the lights go out, what goes through your head? Who comes to mind? For the horror buff named Wes, darkness brings the truth to light.
The medium of the short film enables filmmakers to tell stories and explore themes in a more concise and intimate manner. ONCE IN A BLUE MOON is a story about friendship and love, and how two people navigate between the two.
Director Tim Zajac and screenwriter Miguel Acedo have been creating together for five years, having met at California State University, Los Angeles in its inaugural MFA program. Together with CSULA alums Alicia Tycer (producer) and Garen Mirzaian (cinematographer), this crack team of indie filmmakers are thrilled to bring the band back together and tell this story.
Filmmaking at our level is still low-budget and we know we can achieve the look and feel of the project with our target. With this project, however, we want to step up our game at every possible angle, and we can't do it without your help. Our breakdown of costs will cover everything from equipment rental, creature designs, essential production personnel, production insurance, feeding everybody, and post-production costs.
Your contribution doesn't just help the production, either--we've got a slew of rewards for all our supporters. Helping make a film is nice, but getting souvenirs is that much nicer!
As indie creators, we stand to make no money off this project whatsoever. In fact, we've been putting money in! What we gain from this project goes beyond financial gain. Storytelling completes us; it's who we are. Your contribution isn't just about this film, or its incentives--it's about investing in independent voices as they push their stories out into the world.
Last but not least, if you can't contribute financially, no problem! You can still lend a hand by spreading the word. Post this campaign on Facebook and Twitter and tell your friends!
Thank you!
