About The Show

Shilling Shockers is a hosted horror-movie program in the tradition of Vampira, Zacherley, and other beloved television personalities.  The witch Penny Dreadful XIII hosts classic films along with her 'snarling darling' werewolf husband Garou and the semi-retired monster hunter Dr. Manfred Von Bulow.  The show is directed by Rebecca Paiva, who also appears onscreen in a variety of roles. 

Shilling Shockers has been airing on local cable channels throughout the New England States since 2006, and has received positive reviews from local and national media, such as Scary Monsters Magazine, Fangoria and Rue Morgue.  Penny Dreadful was the first horror host to win the Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for "Favorite Horror Host" in 2007, and was again awarded the title in 2010.  Penny is currently nominated for inclusion in the Horror Host Hall of Fame.

Shilling Shockers is unique in its approach to the horror-hosting genre: in addition to providing movie trivia and comedic segments, the show includes continuing storylines spanning several episodes, occasional musical numbers, special guests, and episodes filmed at haunted/historical locations.

What We Need & What You Get

Shilling Shockers is currently produced by Peculiar Productions, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (registration pending) devoted to theatrical productions and local television programming.  All of the funds raised through DVD and other merchandise sales go directly into production costs, but our day-to-day expenses come out of our own pockets.  In order to make Season 9 happen, we need funding for camera equipment, recordable media, external storage drives, props, wardrobe, makeup, DVD duplication, and distribution.
