With the support of Welbions House Cooperative, the City of Hengelo, Dutch Architecture Institute, Twente Architecture Centre and many others, it has become possible to open a museum dedicated to the work and ideas of the architect Piet Blom, the famous dutch architect, who lived from 1934 until 1999.
"Architecture is more than creating a place to live, you create a society ".
And that's exactly what Piet Blom strongly believed. 40 years ago he build the "Kasbah", and soon the cube houses in Rotterdam and Helmond followed and many other special projects.
This year, a group volunteers [living in the Kasbah] have succeeded to actually create a real museum for the late architect Piet Blom. It is situated in the Kasbah [build by Piet Blom] in Hengelo, the Netherlands. You can see pictures and info on www.pietblommuseum.nl or www.facebook.com/StichtingPietBlomMuseum
But the museum is not completely finished yet and therefore we ask people around the world to contribute to this marvelous initiative. To complete the museum we need €5000 to finish up the building.
Our intentions are to keep the ideology of Piet Blom alive, as well as teaching children to construct whatever they may think of. Our educational programm is formed bij a qualified teacher.
You may be able to spend 1 euro or dollar, maybe more, every bit will help. You also might like to share a link to this site with your friends or family.
Every funders name will be added to our website's 'thank you' list. If you do not want your name on our site please let us know in an email: secretaris@pietblommuseum.nl
We are happy to maintain this museum wich is very important to keep up the ideals of the extraordinary architect Piet Blom.
