About Myself

My name is Sam Turner, I'm a director based in London who's been working in the film industry here for around 2 years. Before the move I was based in the midlands making shorts that would go off to win multiple awards at festivals (you can find a link to my previous work here https://vimeo.com/user43891345/hushhush). During my time working professionally in the industry I made connections with some talented young professionals who have been kind enough to help be bring this project to life. The Film

Point Five is a short comedy film with the look and feel of a gritty urban drama (i.e. top boy, Kidulthood).

The Campaign 

This campaign is important to me as, with sufficient backing, this project could be something amazing. I want to make films that make people laugh and can be appreciated by everyone. It's also very important to me to make films which are based in the streets and have real British characters and situations involved which people can really relate to. 

Myself and other members of the crew have put in as much money, time and resources as humanly possible and with that extra push from contributors, like yourself, this can turn this idea into a reality. The magnitude of how important your contribution is can't be understated enough.

What We Need & What You Get

We have put in around £1,500 of our own money into this project. We estimate the budget to come to around £2,500. The extra £1000 we're asking for will be vital in hiring crew, locations, transport and equipment. 

With a contribution also means you can get particular perks, these include: 

• Signed glossy posters from the cast and crew 
• Your name mention in the credits
• A visit to the set 
• A Background role in the film 
• Discounted filming and editing needs for any company you may own/work for 

If we don't reach the entire goal we're still going to be putting any funds raised directly toward there project.

The Impact

This is a valuable project because it tackles several issues in once concise film. The social commentary on the dangers of blasé drug deals with an underlying promotion of ecologically friendly lifestyles is a unique combination of issues that haven't been tackled together before. 

Risks & Challenges

There are risks and challenged involved in any film project. Anywhere from Covid, filming permission and insurance. Here's how the team will combat any potential risks.

• Accredited covid supervisor to be on set at all times making sure people stick to rules and use all necessary PPE.
• Your contribution will help toward paying for a location which we have permission to shoot.
• To enhance the film there is a music track we require from a UK based grim artist. Your contribution will help us secure the rights to use this track.
• All equipment and crew can be covered with insurance once contributions are collected.
