Our Story
We are the X arm of the Queen's College Class of 2001 and it has been ten years since we graduated from Nigeria's number one secondary school for girls. As part of our ten year celebrations we would like to give back to the school. The administration has identified a couple of projects that are needed immediately and we have chosen to contribute to building a computer/ data laboratory.
The Impact
The Data room/ computer lab will have
a) computers and software to
- automate its results systems. Right now, for a school of almost 6,000
girls, all exam and test results are entered by hand into binders. This
is cumbersome and there is no way to verify if grades are changed
because they are not password protected
- provide computer training courses for students. The current equipment selections date back to the 1990s
- enable the school meet international technological standards. For a school that prides itself on its past products of educated women, its technological capabilities are currently lacking
- maintain its position as the number one girls' college in the nation
b) offices for teachers and staff to
- provide support for the school as well as training for the students
- house the records and data for the school and
c) a solar powered generator to provide the facility with electricity
What We Need & What You Get
We would like to help contribute at least $5000.00 towards the construction of the schools, inviting others to do the same. Your donation will go a long way in providing improved opportunities for the current students of Queen's College
