Short Summary

Hi, I am Susanna Lo, the writer/director of Rabid the Movie. I am probably best known for my upcoming film, Manson Girls. I have been making films since I was six years old. When I was in college, I was so broke, I used a Fisher-Price PixelVision toy camera to shoot some of my student films. I fell in love with that camera and we are using it to shoot a portion of Rabid the Movie - namely the point of view of the Rabid Zombies will be shot in PixelVision.

I came up with the story for Rabid after I rescued a pregnant cat that was abandoned on the street. I named her Cutie Pie, and she gave birth to six kittens. I found homes for all the kittens except two, Romeo and Juliet, who will be starring in this film. Rabid's heroin, Mischa, rescues a cat from a voracious coyote. A few weeks after she brings Kiddo the cat home, the local punk turns into a Rabid Zombie and starts attacking and eviscerating all the neighbors, including one played by famed Roger Corman actress Maria Ford. Did he get the rabies from Kiddo, from the raccoons that are killing the stray cats or from something else? Before she can find out, Mischa becomes trapped in her house with a Gang Banger who wants his drugs back from her pot head neighbor, played by legendary Porn King Ron Jeremy. With Rabid Zombies outside, Gang Bangers inside, what's a girl and her pussy cat suppose to do!

By contributing to us for the production of Rabid, you won't just be helping us make a great Rabid Zombie film. A portion of the profits from the film will go to a non-profit animal rescue named The Animal Avengers (www.TheAnimalAvengers.tv). Created by Susanna Lo and her cousin Alisa Young, The Animal Avengers strives to rescue 365 abandoned animals each year and find them new homes. So make a contribution, become a Rabid Zombie and join the Rabid the Movie team!

What We Need & What You Get

The $200,000 we are raising goes towards the filming of Rabid the Movie, and to post production costs which include music and sound. Two of The Doobie Brothers, Guy Alison and John McFee, a regular part of Susanna's production team, will be producing the soundtrack for the film. And Bill Moseley, the star of The Devil's Rejects and Manson Girls, will be singing one of the songs, which will debut during the course of Rabid's Indiegogo Crowd Funding campaign. So expect great music in this film!

The perks we have for contributors are truly one of a kind. We have Glow in the Dark Rabid Zombie Bumpers Stickers, and an opportunity to be a Rabid Zombie in the film itself. Of course there is also the chance to join the cast and crew at the VIP Premier of the film in Los Angeles. Rabid wants you to have the chance to be a part of the team!

We are confident we will reach our goal, but if we don't, then we will still shoot as much of the film that we can, and put together trailers and sizzle reels with the footage to raise more money. We won't stop until the film is finished and in the theaters.

The Impact

YOU are the reason that Rabid the Movie will be made. Many of you realize that the traditional funding sources for independent films no longer exists. Directors from David Lynch to Spike Lee are taking to Crowd Funding campaigns so they can make their next movies.

As a filmmaker, every film I have ever made with the help of my family, friends and fans has made it into the theaters. My first film, Black & White: A Love Story, played in theaters around the world, including in Europe, Canada, South America and the United States. It also won eight international awards including Top Ten American Independents in Berlin and Best Director in Montreal.

What makes Rabid the Movie different from other films you could fund? We want you to be a part of the film. Whether that means getting a Thank You credit on the film itself or actually being a Rabid Zombie in one of the scenes, our audience is also our film. So join us at Rabid the Movie and be a contributor, be a Rabid Zombie or be a fan!

Other Ways You Can Help

We understand at Rabid the Movie that sometimes it's tough to contribute financially. But there are other ways you can be a part of the Rabid team
