They Came From Ohio…To Seek Their Revenge!
In 2012, at Cinema Wasteland, an Ohio Horror and Sci-Fi Film Convention Jay Summers and Barry Harding had an idea – they wanted to create a movie that would pay homage to the alien invasion and sci-fi movies of the 1950s and 1960s. After receiving positive feedback from movie fans throughout Northeast Ohio, Michigan and across the country Jay set to work building a collaborative team of actors, cinematographers, producers and others that would help turn this dream into a reality. Now in 2013, “Revenge of the Spacemen” is ready to start filming – but we need your help too!
They Used Technology…To Raise An Army!
So what are we trying to do? Simply put, we want to make a great movie that will make people smile. We also want to show people that it’s possible to make a quality film without millions of dollars. Most importantly, we want to make sure that the people involved in our production are compensated for their time and hard work. Making a movie isn’t easy, and we couldn’t do it without the help of people who are giving their time and talent to bring it to life. If we meet our funding goal, we will use the money to compensate everyone involved in our project.
And what exactly is our project? “Revenge of the Spacemen” is a tribute to the B-movies of old, made during a time when alien invasions symbolized American fears about communism. The Cold War may be long gone, but those movies remain to make viewers laugh thanks to crazy plots, wacky effects and melodramatic acting. It’s our goal to bring back that same feel with our film. If you want to see us pull it off, then you can help us by funding this project and getting the word out!
Without Earth’s Help…Their World Is Doomed!
Well, not exactly. Thanks to flexible funding, we’ll be able to use any amount of money raised, but we won’t be able to pay our people, invest in better effects or get better equipment – in other words, we won’t be able to make the movie that you deserve.
