The Film

Trailer: https://vimeo.com/60783897

River Ties is a feature length documentary focusing on ordinary people taking the time out of their busy lives and coming together to share an experience, which just happens to take place on the Green River.

Through this film we get to know the personalities of the cast, their interactions and how the background of each character plays their part to define who they are but not how they act in the group.  Each person comes from a different professional setting and some from across the country.

As the story progresses, experience how the characters deal with cooking, handling accommodations and something so simple as using the bathroom.  Everyday tasks we take for granted become more meaningful on the river, particularly the relationships formed between friends.

Every activity on the river has an impact, not only on the group but also on the delicate environment that the film travels through.

Rivers are what tie this group together.

Follow the campaign and like us on Facebook as we will periodically be introducing characters and you can get to know them!

Peruse the media gallery for portraits of each character as well as the introduction videos as they arrive!

What We Need & What You Get

Deadliest Catch has nothing on us! We are working to make a cinematic production in a wet and sand-filled environment, with no electricity… and two people! In order to accomplish this we need your help to purchase the mandatory gear to make this a success. We need six Go Pro cameras to capture all the action on the rafts.

We film all day from sun up to down. Much of this time there is either water or sand blowing over us and the cameras. While we get over sand working its way into every nook and cranny of our bodies, we want to prevent the same from happening to the cameras. We need water proof cases to not only pack in, but shoot out of.

Sound is as important to us as stunning visuals and we need to get a legitimate boom mic and recorder to capture the hilarious dialogue of the group.

Sun rises and sets are indescribable in the canyons! We are using time lapse photography to convey these expierences and need a camera slider to make them truly spectacular.

Over the course of eight days, charging becomes a big issue. We must rely on solar power to charge cameras, sound equipment and a computer. With your help, we can present a documentary worthy of the characters it follows.

We want you to participate in creating this documentary and for your support we have a list of awesome perks on this page.  We’re not looking to give away junk, we want you to have a unique piece of art in the form of a film and possibly a fine art print from the shoot. Pick your favorite daily chore from the list and get involved!

Other Ways You Can Help

Even if you can’t support our documentary, that doesn’t mean you can’t support our documentary! Help us get the word out, tell your friends and family, share this on Facebook, twitter, or whatever you are into! You can also do everyone a favor and get involved with your local waterways!
