Nurses are highly trained, educated healthcare professionals.
Help us show the world!
Unlike what you'll see on many TV programs or movies, real nurses are NOT flunkies, junkies or floozies! And they are not stupid, either!
![]()
We want the world to know this. So we are giving nurses a landmark television program on RNTV, The Reel Nurses Talk Show, to showcase their skills and share their knowledge. In a nutshell, we are saying, "Move over outmoded versions of nurses, the real nurses are in!"
A TV first, Nurse Experts answer questions about your health and wellness in fun, engaging, and easy to understand bites. Unlike anything on TV, the host of The Reel Nurses Talk Show is a nurse and all guest experts on this talk show will be nurses! Yes...all nurse experts, all the time.

After major surgery, who watches over you all night long to make sure you and your loved ones keep breathing? Who is at your bedside 24/7 to make sure your heart continues beating? When you get a diagnosis or do not understand your treatment options, whose job is it to offer you practical solutions to health issues that matter to you? The nurse's, of course!
Let's tell the media that doctors are not the only highly trained healthcare professionals. Let's celebrate nursing professionals by putting a spotlight on their expertise, training, and education.
When you fund The Reel Nurses Talk Show, you give nurses around the world a platform to do what they do best, care for the general public.
Why a Television Talk Show? Why Nurses?
RNTV (Reel Nurses Television) presents a landmark program in television history, The Reel Nurses Talk Show. So why a television talk show with only nurse experts?
Have you ever watched a hospital based drama on television and wondered, "Where are all the nurses?" And when they did have nurses have you ever wondered, "Why are nurses always shown as bimbos, druggies, maniacal or handmaidens?" Have you ever wondered, "Why are doctors always depicted as super heroes who swoop in to save the day, while nurses are shown as underlings who "play fetch" for these TV/movie doctors?" Sonya Justice asked herself these same questions.

After years of tolerating mind-numbing, silly, and demeaning portrayal of nurses, spanning a 15 year career in nursing, Sonya finally said, "Enough!" However, instead of lashing out at the authors/producers of those programs, she decided to find a positive way to address the imbalance.
While doctors focus on diseases and treatment, nurses go well beyond that. Because we know physical illness affects more than just the body, we address the patient's mind, body and spirit. Sometime I cannot help but think only nurses know this. No more preaching to the choir. We want to get the word out. Nurses are caring, absolutely! Nurses are also intelligent and educated healthcare professionals.
Where did we get this idea?
Sonya's mission is life is to burst all myths and misconceptions about nurses by updating the image of the modern nurse. Her first project was the award-winning Fabulous Nurse Magazine. Although Fabulous Nurse is lauded by many in the healthcare industry and consumed by some non-healthcare professionals, Sonya realized she was preaching to the choir. People who subscribe to Fabulous Nurse already know nurses are not lackeys. She wondered what else she could do to take her message to the public...
As an avid consumer of books, movies, magazines, TV dramas, talk shows and dramas, Sonya is well aware of the power of television to influence people's perception. After a chance visit to a studio where she was slated to guest on Straightalk TV, Sonya knew she had found a new medium to burst open all myths and misconceptions about nurses. The seed which later sprouted into RNTV was planted.
Sonya has spent many a sleepless night working on the logistics of introducing a brand new platform where people can see nurses as they really are. As rigorously trained healthcare professionals who will discuss medical issues and inform the general public on health related concerns.
"Amazing things can happen when people start watching a program which features nurses as they truly are - capable and educated healthcare professionals. I am hopeful The Reel Nurses Talk Show will prove beneficial to the profession of nursing and the general public," says Sonya Justice, RNTV founder.
What have we done so far?
To jump start RNTV operations, Sonya's is taking her message to the general public by appearing on TV shows to raise awareness.

For a Straighttalk TV segment, Sonya took o the streets to explore what people really think of nurses and doctors. Her mission: To find out what shaped those opinions; experience within the healthcare system or the media?
![]()
Discussing nurses' perceived role with people on the street has been an eye opener for Sonya. The conclusion was not surprising. People who have no real life encounters with nurses think all nurses play a "far less important role" than doctors. These people had no concept of the rigorous training and depth of knowledge it requires to be a competent nurse. Understandably, they showed little comprehension of the vast opportunities for specialization which is one of many hallmarks of the nursing profession; admittedly, their opinions were formed solely by the media portrayal of nurses.
If all they see associated with the nursing profession are maidens, porn, amoral behavior, drug addiction, and incompetence, can anyone fault anyone for having a skewed perception of nursing?
The Reel Nurses Talk Show on RNTV will give people an alternate view of nurses so they can formulate an informed opinion of the Nursing profession. It is important because nothing less than the future of the nursing profession is at stake.
We reached out to nurses who are well-respected public officials and they all agree that The Reel Nurses Talk Show is a wonderful idea and long overdue.
