Death Zones are gravitationally bound fields of wrecks and debris, remnants of furious space battles. They are filled with insane shipboard security systems, unexploded warheads and drifting pieces of jagged wreckage. But most importantly, valuable loot and unexpected treasures. That is where the Salvage Teams come in.

We are four grizzled game developers, hailing from the frozen ice planet of Finland. We navigate the perilous reaches of board game development in our rusty Deep Space Office Games&Tales. We have set our sensors to a board game project identified as Salvage Team, but we cannot bring you all the hard-earned fun alone. That is where this campaign and the Salvage Support Network come in.

Our purpose here in the IndieGoGo star system is to gather funds to execute our development plan for Salvage Team, and bring the exciting board game to you during the second half of 2013. To bring the game to the light of day, and the nearest board game shop to you, we need 8,000. This money will go to finalizing our graphical assets, tweaking the game mechanics, printing the games and making sure that our valued employees survive the harsh arctic conditions of our home planet.

![And what is Salvage Team?]()
Salvage Team will have an extremely modular, tile-based board. At the start of the game, a layer of face-down tiles forms the shape of the derelict ship. When the Salvagers delve in, new tiles are drawn face-up on top. The Salvagers will know what types of threats and loot the tiles will contain, but the exact details will only be revealed when the players stay put and face the dangers...

These images are work in progress, the final product might look different, most probably absolutely stunning.
Each character will have a large-sized card with a gorgeous illustration and a character advancement tile. You can build your team from generic, run of the mill Savvies, or big and expensive unique individuals and everything in between. With training tokens and special equipment you can tackle even more dangerous wrecks and bigger loot.

Since modularity and options are priceless artifacts, the Salvage Team experience will be widely customisable. You can play a single wreck in about an half an hour, or an ongoing campaign for the greatest profit and fame.

![What lies beyond the call of duty?]()
Should the campaign reach 10,000, we can add 2 unique, special characters from the Dreams of Altaine novels into the game! These high-salary loose cannons will change the balance of power... for good or for worse!
If we can reach 12,000, we can add Large Tiles to the game! Large Tiles are 2-by-1 special tiles, which contain even more valuable rewards and deadly threats. Since everyone knows what the tiles contain, the race will just get more furious.
And should the campaign hit 18,000, we will include an Event Deck into Salvage Team, bringing even more variety! With still-active defense cannons firing and random power fluctuations breathing life into the wreck, the Savvies will have to adapt or die.
We like co-operative board games, and for 30,000 we can promise you an expansion pack! Which will add rules for a story-based co-operative campaign, co-operative scenarios and heaps of components.
For 50,000 we can create Salvage Team Mobile, a smartphone and tablet computer app, which will enhance the board game experience! It will feature an augmented reality camera to bring the tiles into 3d, a digital Event Deck and an online stock market for the loot, among other things!
80,000 will be enough for us to upgrade Salvage Team Mobile with Grinder, a single-player game where you control the Furnace Shuttle! See if you can do better as a Rodent pilot than the basic AI! Procedural content and camera integration will make it possible to explore the same wreck both digitally and on the kitchen table!
If the stars align and we reach 500,000, we will realize our nostalgic hopes and create Salvage Team – The Digital Game! Fans of such old-school gems like UFO – Enemy Unknown and Space Hulk will undoubtedly be overjoyed of our endeavour!
