75% FINISHED, 100% INDIE! HELP SUPPORT INDIE FILM AND HELP FINISH SELECTED!!
-SIX MONTHS AGO- Seventy-five people donated close to $10,000 to Selected so that we could shoot the short film we've been working on for the past few years.
- The film is 75% completed. The Visual F.X. are done 100% by our director/editor Brennan Karem. WE DO NOT outsource, from the script to the score and everything in between.
- We are looking to finish the film and have the screening at the IFC theater in Manhattan before the end of NOVEMBER and we need to make the major film festival submission deadlines!
- Four years ago, my brother and I started seriously making films. Last year, we won the NYIFF for best short film and won best screenplay and best director. This year, we are upping the bar and going for something much bigger. We are trying to not only enter our film into all the major film festivals, but we are going to try to win them! It has been a rough journey from the beginning but since then we have surrounded ourselves with a great team! So, for this film, we are putting everything we have into it, and so is everyone we are working with. We are just looking for the funding to pursue this dream!
- PLOT!!!!!
You are probably wondering the exact plot of the film. It is a Neo-noir crime mystery! Think L.A Confidential mixed with Minority Report! Exciting right?! It follows the lives of four different characters as they cope with this new, all-encompassing system that strives to completely eradicate murder from the human experience! Of course, corruption, murder and sex are all a part of this intricate and fun plot!
- This past summer we raised close to $10,000 to shoot a the film.

What We Need & What You Get
What we need is $5,500. This will be primarily used to pay for the remaining post production Hardware. (renting computers and software) Also, it will be used to record and finish the score of the film and to pay for the entrance fees for the film festivals and Comic-Con. Also, we are looking to hold a screening at the IFC in New York City!!
-$2,500 Computer and Software rental and studio space.
-$1,500 Film Festival entrance fees/Film and Blue-Ray copies.
-$250 Score and studio space rentals.
-$750 Comic-Con
-$500 Film Screening at a theater in Manhattan!
If it's possible, a surplus would allow us to upgrade on the Visual FX and allow us to better market and submit the film. However, we are shooting to raise the absolute necessary amount to make the film.
If we do not reach our intended goal the money will still be put into the overall budget and we will continue to fund raise until we reach our intended goal
