One
day I bought a book of poems by Emily Dickinson, just hit by
curiosity: "The rooms of alabaster" so far I haven't read
anything by her. From that moment onward for some unconscious
reason I've always carried that book with me when moving to a
different house and town: the book under one arm and my Babette
under the other one. Then I realized the fact that when I had a musical
idea in my head it was completed by combining her words with it,
drawing me into a new inspiration. Emily poems revealed themselves
and vice versa, I had sometimes the positive feeling that she was leading me! She was suggesting even the musical setting, the
instruments, the chromaticism of the sound.
I know of course I've
been totally carried away by the her 'full' poetic evocative
power. Emily has the power, at least she has that power with me, of
talking to my head which is also heart and guts, at the same time. A
state of euphoria and of losing touch with the solid ground, where
you let loose the moorings of the logics and you let yourself being
seduced and catch deep in your soul.
"Emily"
is an independent album, where I've made the choice of
following entirely my instinct with giving voice and sound to the
musical worlds inspiring me creatively, without any prejudiced
stylistic boundaries.
For
that reason I've made the decision of adopting an independent
approach also with regards to the record release I wish I could
follow the steps of this newborn baby so dear to me, involving all
the people who want to follow the Emily album steps with me.
It
is an album I've made with Stefano Saletti, a musician I hold in high
esteem and I'm very and I'm bound by true and rare friendship to. I
owe Claudio Martinez, a very important friend in my life indeed, the
videos and the images of the Emily's world: any time you'll see
something good, that's his work...enriched by the valuable artistic contribution of Roberto Saletti who oversaw the art work.
Then
they come Mario Nicoletti, Fabiana Manuelli and Cocoon Projects following with
passion its growth, Fabrizio de Carolis and his final magic touch for
the record mastering and other people and friends I owe very much who
'll be mentioned in the album.
That's
all I can say, all the rest's inside the 11 tracks.
I
hope with your contribution to achieve the Funding Goal in
order to recoup a small part of all the costs involved in the record
production and promotion and paying back all those who've been
working on the project and have shared with me the faith of making it
real.
Thank
you.
