Follow your bliss...
10 years ago when I first stepped foot into my new massage school, I was terrified. I was leaving my job (with benefits!) and married to a (broke-as-a-joke) grad student. Would I ever succeed? What was I giving up? Could we handle this transition?
10 years later, I'm amazed beyond belief at where this career has taken me. I have more clients than I know what to do with, and my massage business continues to grow exponentially (44 new clients just in the last 2 1/2 months!) -- quite a feat given that Soma was growing during one of the worst economic times in American history! "Follow your bliss, and the universe will open doors where there were only walls."
I'm now asking for your support to help my small, local, independent, American-owned business to continue this momentum.
Over the last 4 years, I've been blessed to have a massage office in my home. But as my client base grows, I've had to hire more therapists. More therapists and more clients means more hours in which my home is also a place of business. And as much as I love working from home, it's starting to put a strain on my family. I don't want to have to ask Gracie and Lulu to play and laugh more quietly when there's a client here (which is all. the. time). I want the little girls to be able to play their instruments and run around like wild "black cheetahs" (their favorite game) and make as much noise as they want to. I also don't want to have to put on pants on the weekend. This place is starting to feel more like a business and less like a home
So I'm asking for your help. We CONTINUE to grow (we're on Google's first page!), and I need to hire ANOTHER therapist to supply the demand, and move this business out once and for all. Soma is growing because we're good at what we do and people recognize that -- and I don't want to put the brakes on! I signed a lease for a fantastic office space nearby, which will have TWO treatment rooms and great visibility on a street that's close to UNT. We open on November 15!
I need your support to make this happen. I'm humbly asking for $5,000. This is my wishlist/needs for my new office:
- Another massage table
- A new massage establishment license (required by the state if I change locations)
- A membership at the Chamber of Commerce (what a great way to bring in new clients to help sustain this growing business!)
- Furniture for my waiting room
- More sheets, towels, pillows, and quilts
- Another electric table warmer
- Another hot stone set
- Cleaning supplies like a vacuum cleaner, etc
- An updated logo and website
- A bigger filing cabinet (oh, so many client files!)
- More/better marketing materials
- Signs for the street and doors
- A new dryer -- all this laundry is taking its toll on our ancient machine!
- Lots of plants, fountains, and art
- Etc.
By supporting Soma in this way, you'll be supporting my entire family, and you'll be helping to bring Denton a massage studio, full of qualified, professional, healing therapists!
Thank you so much for your support, your loyalty, and your donation!
In gratitude,
Amber
