Space Junque
At the end of the 21st century, civilization is at the brink of environmental collapse. As Char Meadowlark prepares to board the Imperial Shuttle for some time off planet, the airport is attacked by the DOGs, an eco-terrorist group.
Jake Ardri, pilot of the private shuttle Space Junque, offers Char her only hope of survival. He takes her to the orbiting Imperial Space Station, the seat of world government.
As the conflict escalates and global war threatens humanity's existence, ancient gods return to take control and impose a new world order. Char and Jake are caught up in a divine plan to save the world - but first they have to survive the apocalypse.

The Story
Space Junque is a story of corruption, hope, renewal, and transformation. With the world in chaos, the Defenders of Gaia (DOGs) are determined to save the Earth even if it means destroying civilization. The Earth will survive but what is to come of mankind? The human race is struggling to survive, hundreds of thousands have already died, and the ancient gods have taken notice. Some want to create a new world, but one sees potential in Char Meadowlark, a young woman trying to overcome the loss of her fiancé and her twin sister. Char must find her inner strength to help lead a small group into whatever future lies ahead.
It is a story that is fitting for our time. One that entertains while planting a seed of thought. One worth telling on a grand scale.

Our Vision
We have an immense amount of passion for Space Junque. The plot that LK Rigel has carefully crafted in her book has an incredible draw that pulls you into its depths and keeps its hold right up to the end, leaving you wanting more. This piece just begs to be molded to the silver screen and we feel it is our calling to oblige.
This will be the first in a potential trilogy based on LK Rigel's Apocalypto series. This will also be the first production from the new independent studio, One Star's Light Productions LLC. The excellent writing and visualization by LK Rigel make this a prime candidate for adaptation to screen. We saw an opportunity to produce this independently and focus on story telling. Advancements in technology will enable us to produce films with the same quality as the big studios without the big budgets.

What if we do not reach our funding goal?
This project is set up using flexible funding so whatever you pledge will reach us and help us toward our final goal. The more we raise here, the less we need to seek from private investors. With less reliance on private equity, we can commit more funds to details and production value. Contributors will receive their rewards regardless of whether or not we reach our goal here. Some rewards (Blurays, studio visits, etc) will be postponed until full funding is achieved and/or the film is completed. We will keep our contributors updated as we make progress.
