SPOT - the light with a sweet spot

SPOT is a multi-purpose light that can be hung, hand-held, or simply placed on a surface. It can function as a torch, desk lamp, ambience light, or wall light - use it however and whenever you like!

SPOT is adaptable to a variety of situations. The elegant aesthetics of the light allows you to place it anywhere in the comfort of your home without fear of it being obtrusive.

SPOT is made of durable polypropylene (PP) material and is splash resistant. This means that you can even use it in the outdoors without fear of moisture damage.

DESIGN CONCEPTION

We were inspired by the simplicity, and functionality of industrial work lights. With SPOT, we retained the mobility of conventional torches and industrial work lights, as well as the dynamic rotational movement of theatrical stage lights. Stripping them down to their essentials and introduced an element of playfulness to it, bringing you a refreshing design of a functional light.

Currently, we offer SPOT in two colours - cool grey and tangerine.

LIGHTING

SPOT runs on a single high-powered 10W LED module for the light source. The benefits of LEDs are aplenty. They are long lasting, energy saving, and do not heat up much over time.

It is powered internally and runs on 6 1.5V AAA batteries for the current prototype. The lack of external wiring eliminates any hassle or mess in mobility and usage. Upon successful funding, we are hoping to refine the design by using rechargeable batteries for better convenience.

To replace the batteries, simply lift the diffuser cap from the case like taking the lid off a container and insert the new batteries.

WHY DOES SPOT NEED TO BE FUNDED?

SPOT currently remains as a prototype although we really believe in its functionality. With your support and sufficient funding, we will be able to complete a first production run and bring this delightful product to your household.

The funds will also greatly help us in refining the design in several ways such as using rechargeable batteries, introducing more colours, and also selecting the best materials to make SPOT a better product to own.

FAQ

How does the light work?

SPOT's on/off button is integrated into one of the two hinges joining the body and the handle. The button is YELLOW to distinct itself from the other hinge. 

What does the light operate on?

Currently, SPOT runs on 6 1.5V AAA batteries. We understand that this may seem like a hassle but we assure you that upon sufficient funding, we will definitely be sourcing for rechargeable batteries or alternative battery types for greater user convenience.

How do I replace the batteries?

The batteries are hidden in SPOT's body itself. To replace, simply lift the lid off the case and insert new batteries.

Will the diffuser lid fall off the casing easily?

No, rest assured that the lid fits onto the casing snugly and is not loose.

How long will the batteries last for?

With continuous usage, the batteries will power SPOT for up to about 8 hours.

What is the lifespan of the LED?

LEDs are created to last for a reasonably long time. We only use high quality LEDs in SPOT which are expected to last at least 50,000 hours. If you left it on all day everyday it would last about 5 and a half years.

Why do you have only 2 colours?

We currently only have 2 colours but depending on the reception of our campaign we will surely consider setting a stretch goal so that we can bring more colours to SPOT.

I have ordered either a Family, Distributor, or EPIC distributor pack. How do I specify the ratio of my prefered colours?

Firstly, thank you for your amazing support! Should our campaign be successful, we will be personally emailing you so that you can specify your preferred colour preferences (e.g. 2 cool greys and 3 tangerines for a family pack).

How much do I pay for shipping?

If you are ordering from Singapore, shipping and delivery is free or charge.
