Hi, everyone

I’m Alan, from the Philippines. When I got home after my overseas studying, I saw the strongest typhoon Haiyan in the history in the Philippines, which involved 100 million people. Though the rescue work has been carried on for three months, many people did not get help.

Recently the Philippines suffered the supper Typhoon Haiyan. As the strongest storm ever recorded, it left a trail of destruction in many towns and cities. Even concrete buildings were damaged by the powerful wind. Thousands of people were in face of shortage of clean water and electricity, and even food supplies cannot be available. Hospitals have no enough medicines for patients, causing the spread of disease a real threat. Lending a helping hand, the victims will be soon relieved of this tragedy.

At present, I live in Tacloban City, near the most devastated communities. In spite of many individuals and organizations providing aid to the disaster-hit areas, it is insufficient. There are still many people need aid.

We plan to raise at least $200,000 for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. All goods and materials would be sent for relief efforts in Northern Cebu. The funds are used for buying rice, canned goods, potable water, medicine, and clothes. The goods from this donation activity will be distributed to people in Northern Tacloban .

There is no food, water and electricity, so we can image how difficult people live in towns and remote villages.

A little can be very useful. The following are what your money could offer.

$1: 12 fever and pain relieving pills
$3: 1 complete Aid Kit, which includes 2 kg of rice, 3 packs of instant noodles, and 2 cans of sardines
$5: 9 bottles of drinking water
$10: 5 shirts or 7 pairs of slippers

We will make full use of every cent. If we fail the goal, we will still use the money to buy as much as we can for those victims of the Typhoon.

We totally understand if you are not able to make a contribution, and you can provide help in other ways:

If you use Facebook, Twitter or other social media, please share and spread the information to make more people care about this tragedy.
Tell someone you know, your friends, colleagues or neighbors.

I will constantly update this page to keep you informed of our progress. You may reach me at isabel:manci5005@gmail.com  if you have any further questions.

Maraming at daghan salamat!

Alan
