The goal was not reached, fair enough! But, enough was gathered to support the recording phase of this album!! Which means: we are still doing it!! just the release will be postponed for March 2014 instead of December 2013, until enough funds are gathered for this phase!!
The pre-production of "Ruins in Bloom" has officially started in Berlin! Thirteen demo songs have already been recorded over these past weeks, which is why we're running so late with this update! And now is the time to draw a precise outline and arrangement for each track, decide what it will turn into, find the best way to deliver the message it carries... and when all this is done, we'll fly to the States and make it happen there!

WHO THE HELL IS STEREOCHEMISTRY?
Stereochemistry is a music project by Karla Heimann and Miss Stereochemistry.
Karla is a scientist. In her nerdy years, she got a Master of Science in Biotechnology and developed a Hepatitis C diagnostic tool. And then she took a dare: she left her PhD in Experimental Audiology to become a street musician. Making a living out of making her own music was her biggest dream. Now it is her life.
Miss Stereochemistry is an alien. Actually, they are five aliens sharing one human body, Karla's namely. They are here on a mission: studying Earthlings and spreading music around the globe. Miss Stereochemistry believes that music is the best language on Planet Earth, the only one that makes people fail to misunderstand each other.
Karla comes from Yugoslavia (Belgrade). Miss Stereochemistry comes from the Universe. They both agree on the fact that Karla's origins are harder to grasp.
WHY CROWD FUNDING?
Jason Rubal, Amanda Fuckin Palmer's producer, contacted Stereochemistry earlier this year and offered to produce their next album!! Believe it or not!!
As there is no such a thing as coincidence in the Universe, both Karla and Miss Stereochemistry had a hell of a year in 2012, which left them wounded yet greatly inspired to metabolize the challenging vibes into inspiring music and come up with a whole bunch of new songs, right at that time.
THIS IS A MAJOR CHANGE IN OUR MUSIC CAREER. Stereochemistry has been self-produced so far - we released three studio albums. Now, working with Jason can open doors and perspectives we could only dream of while playing on the streets of Barcelona, Florence and Berlin a few years ago.
PRIZES, PERKS AND WHERE THE MONEY GOES
We need 4500 euros, meaning 6000 USD to make this project happen. 3800 euros are needed for the studio time, mixing and mastering costs; 500 for the travel expenses from Berlin to New York and Pennsylvania, and the rest is to pay the session musicians (that is, a drummer!) to play on the record.

We believe that music can indeed make this world a better place. Aside from offering a safe harbor and open playground to the entire plethora of human emotions, for being your best friend in your loneliest times, and for being indeed the best language on the planet, we believe music CAN make concrete changes in the world.
In fact, we donated 50 % of ALL the online "SWEEP" sales to Every Mother Counts, a charity organization founded by Christy Thurlington. EMC aims to prevent pregnancy and birth-related deaths of expecting mothers around the world, by providing basic health care units in the poorest regions of the world.
We plan to do the same with "Ruins in Bloom". We are not doing this to appear nice or play a saint. This is an act of gratitude. Once upon a time, we needed a hospital like this and we were lucky to have it around the corner. Therefore, we are here with you today. Therefore, we want to share this gift we had back then with other women in need.

RUINS IN BLOOM
This album is a celebration of life at its very core. It is a tribute to the life force innate in every single being here on Earth, in every single one of us, which goes beyond our own comprehension.
The force that grows out of us when we are broken, just like the plants eventually colonize the ruins of the buildings left by man, turning them into something new, something beautiful, even when the initial dream project of the architect was something completely different.
