Our Story

Five years ago, 8 friends met at a café in Accra to discuss their passion; blogging. What started five years ago as two friends meeting has today grown to be a respected non-profit social media organisation with over 100 registered blogs/bloggers.

In 2012, we run a project called Ghana Decides. which was a huge success in getting political parties and citizens engaging via social media. In the 2012 and 2013, we organised a blogging bootcamp and Ghana’s first Social Media Awards called BlogCamp which has drawn over 1000 participants.

This year, we are building on the success of Ghana Decides and have started another project called Inform Ghana to create a hub for information which otherwise would be difficult to obtain for both journalists and citizens to tap in. This is all help create an engaged citizenry.

Today, we are getting requests from various parts of the country to help train journalists, civil society and students on how to use social media to tell the world their stories and affect change. We need your help your help to do this.

What We Need & What You Get

Through individual member contributions and corporate donations, we have acquired office space or a home as we want to call it to serve as a hub for trainings, our projects, meetings and place bloggers can call home.

We need your help to make our dream of getting more Ghanaians telling their stories, debating issues that affect development and sharing information a reality. Help us purchase equipment and furnish our office. As we say in Ghana, “Kitiwa Bia Nswa” (no donation is too small). Please click the donate button to contribute to our dream, your dream.

We have some great perks for you.

The Impact

Our office (#BloGHome) will include a training area where we will train students, civil society, government actors and organisations on using social media to engage and advocate for change.

We hope the space will be a "safe space" for bloggers and other Ghanaians to meet, brainstorm and work on social-impact projects.

We will now be able to create more (regional) BlogCamps, Ghana Decides, Inform Ghana to make sure citizens are engaged.

Other Ways You Can Help

We are also accepting contributions via Guaranty Trust Bank A/C #204 109 117 110. If you can't contribute financially, that's okay. You can donate some office equipment and/or spread the word and tell your friends, family, and anyone you think might be interested in Ghana and #MoreStories and activism from Ghana. The share buttons below are your friends. Go ahead, click and share.

Thank You! Yɛdaase!
