Sweetie Maude is the brainchild of Sabrina Harper. Like most of Sabrina’s brainchildren, once it lodged itself in her head, she couldn’t, WOULDN’T rest until she could see it realized.
Sweetie Maude is the lesbian version of Sweeney Todd set in Chicago. Sweetie Maude is a woman scorned. When Sweetie was young she was forced to leave Chicago because of her forbidden love with a closeted pregnant lesbian madame. Local magistrate, Judge Turpin, saw the love Sweetie had for the Madame and was jealous, for he too loved the Madame, and could not bear to see the two woman raise the madame's bastard child, Savannah. The judge sent Sweetie away, drove the madame to certain death and is now planning on marrying his the now orphaned daughter, Savannah.
Twenty years later, Sweetie has come back to exact her revenge.

Sweetie Maude is the all-female, lesbian version of Sweeney Todd. Set in Chicago in a timeless age, Sweetie Maude is the story of jealousy, cruelty and ultimately, of revenge. Although this musical is a pastiche (a work of art that closely and lovingly imitates the original work) of Sweeney Todd, Sweetie Maude finds it’s own voice. Maude resonates as an all-female story: manipulation, jealousy and revenge find their home in our anti-hero Sweetie, but we also see strength, and power.
When Sabrina got the idea for Maude, she brought in her very best friend, fellow improviser Margaret Hicks. Margaret had her own passion for Sondheim and together, the two of them fully realized the idea of Sweetie Maude.
The cast is culled from people the two have worked with at Second City, The Annoyance and The Playground for the past 15 years. Sweetie will run at Studio Be starting September 26, 2013 and will run through October 31, ending with a Halloween finale the likes of which have never been seen before!
Sabrina and Margaret are looking for help to produce the show. The biggest expense of course, is the theater. We also will need help with sets, costumes, etc.
AND NOW THE CAST!!
Please welcome new cast members Denise Swindell and Amy Thompson!!! Denise will be angry and sarcastic playing the part of BEAVER. Amy will be rolling around on skates and singing sweet tunes as the role of TOOTIE!

LICKETT
Welcome to my pie shop!
Not a dollar to my name
But trust me I don’t feel no parts of shame
Catching pus- cows is just a game (meow)
This is probably the worst shit on state street
The crust is like concrete
The inside is shifty and purrs like a kitty
It’s only just me, can’t sell ‘em for free, the worst shit on State Street!
