Synesthesia is a live, annual event which unites a select and diverse range of arts. “Synesthesia” originated as an Electric Pear exclusive production, conceived by Ashlin Halfnight and Melanie Sylvan, and staged for the first time in 2007. After five successful seasons in New York, Athena Theatre is taking the newest installment of this artistic telephone to the West Coast!

"Synesthesia" was inspired by Electric Pear Productions: Melanie Sylvan and Ashlin Halfnight. We often go to the theatre and see the final product of many script drafts, rehearsals, meetings, etc. "Synesthesia" takes us behind the scenes to catch a glimpse of the artists process. What inspires us? How does one translate something they see, hear, smell, taste, feel into their respective medium. Come share in the process of these acclaimed artists as we explore what it means to be inspired and how we share our art.
We believe in paying our artists and production team. It is important to show respect to our talented team of artists on stage and behind the scenes. We also have rental costs at the Bootleg Theater; graphic design work for marketing and publicity materials as well as on the websites; printing and design on playbills, postcards and posters. Our focus of "Synesthesia" is the process of creating art. Your contribution will help support our artists.
You can help spread the word by forwarding our page in an email, facebook or twitter. People really do want to help be a part of creating art once there is a following. By advocating for us you are beginning the domino effect of support which will ultimately help us reach our goal!
