Servers are usually creative.
I'm Anthony Cortese and I'm the creator of Table 12. I've been serving for 20 years, during school, and continued serving ever since i realized i needed my days free to pursue an acting career. That acting career turned into a producing and writing career, but such careers still needed me to serve my friday and saturday nights forever, if i wanted to pay bills.
In my serving career i have met some intelligent and creative colleagues, and we all have served many customers that we needed to vent about in the kitchen or at the bar after work. I am hoping people, food & beverage servers, and all people, who must deal with the motto "the customer is always right", feel that there is an even bigger bar, where many servers can go to after work and live vicariously through the sarcastic server at Table 12.
I'm hoping that table 12 inspires servers everywhere, and motivates them to use the resources they have to make the art they want to make. The support I've received form friends, colleagues, and even my EMPLOYER, has freaked me out enough to seek support here. There's got to be servers passing through indiegogo land.
The tip jar is empty.
Everybody who crewed on filming the first four episodes and one valentine's special, donated 2 full days and 2 half days of their busy time, and I have been editing whenever I had the time and the will throughout the last year, and there was some writing and re-writing involved as well. Even the restaurant owner, who employs me, graciously let us shoot in there when it was empty, and it's rarely empty.
All funds, to pay for any quipment needed, to pay for food, to pay for gas, to pay for props, came from my tip jar. The jar is now empty. And people can't donate their time forever. I feel flattered and fortunate to have had such talented people believe in the project enough to defer payment, bring their tools and expertise, and work as hard as they did to make these episodes. They can't keep doing that.
Please give to the jar.
With your tips, contributions, hopefully the jar can reach a level where we can make more, and hopefully get this waiter's journey told, and maybe even enlighten as we entertain. Go even further down the perks list and you can contribute and then contribute! This series is a voice, a comedic, satirical voice of the server/artist. Thinking person/working person. With the goal reached I believe we can get the 3 season journey complete, and I am very excited about the plans for season 2.
