1. True multi-user experience
Direct interaction with content is just more intuitive. While multi-touch so far has mostly been associated with two-finger operation, multi-touch on TableConnect really opens up new ways of interaction. Keyboard and mouse are a thing of the past. Through TableConnect's huge size, multitouch operation becomes a multiuser experience.

2. No learning curve
We envisioned TableConnect. A giant multi-touch table that allows you to plug in your smartphone or tablet and use all the apps as if they were on the original device. You don’t need to learn new software, instead you can enjoy the familiar surface of your personal device on a big screen. Simply just Plug & Play

3. Save on development costs
There are many multi-touch solutions already in use around the world, you might say. But let´s take a closer look here. Most of these solutions rely on proprietary software (and sometimes hardware) that need custom apps, specifically created for their systems. Due to the naturally low infiltration of such devices, the number of available developers is sparse, resulting in more expensive app development costs for apps.
TableConnect on the other hand directly connects to the extensive ecosystem of iOS and Android apps. As a result we believe that custom app development very often will not be necessary at all. And even if you do need a custom app, the development process will definitely be less expensive considering the amount of gifted iOS and Android developers available worldwide.
This circumstance will also be key to see innovative solutions specifically designed for TableConnect in the future.

4. A real table after all
And last but not least, let´s talk about the design. While almost any other multitouch “table” out there really is just a tv with bolt-on legs and an ugly bezel, TableConnect in contrast is a piece of luxury furniture. Use it as you would use any other table. Sit on it if you want, get work done or eat lunch with your family and colleagues. Because of it´s seamless design there will also be no dust or breadcrumbs trapped in the corners of the screen.

We are a team of creative brains working hard to make this dream of our´s come true. Naturally there has been some heavy lifting involved with this project and it took a lot of time to find the right partners who genuinely share our vision with the same passion and care for all the little details.

At this stage of the project, we need money to produce the 60 inch prototype. This is what the sum of this Indiegogo campaign will be used for.

With the full-size-prototype we can perfect all the software, hardware, design and production details, to get TableConnect ready for the market.

Inspired by the monolith in Stanley Kubrik’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, TableConnect follows a reduced but sophisticated design language. We wanted to achieve a product that is more than a technical device. We invested countless hours which led to a timeless, reduced body seamlessly covered with ultra-sturdy glass that secretly contains all the functional buttons and a beautiful 60 inch screen.

The anodized black aluminum legs make TableConnect a one-of-a-kind crafted piece of artwork with considerable thought on practicality. Take off one leg to use TableConnect in a vertical position, for example as an interactive display. Put TableConnect on its side to use it in landscape mode, for interactive presentations. Remove all legs to mount TableConnect on every surface.

TableConnect’s timeless monolithic design and precise craftsmanship makes it a device built to last.

Here are the key features we are working on for TableConnect:

We have taken some extra effort to make TableConnect’s surface look good in any surrounding. An extra anti-glare layer attached to the panels heavy-duty glass, minimizes reflections so you can enjoy the full TableConnect experience without distractions.

To achieve a seamless and intuitive experience while using TableConnect we made the decision to implement active touch-sensor areas on the surface of the device. With the home button located on all four corners and the orientation buttons at the edges, we made sure that the most frequently used controls are easily accessible.

Use over 1,5 million readily available apps. Create new apps made for TableConnect’s big surface and true multi-user performance. TableConnect simply adds a new dimension to app interaction.

Several backlit sensor buttons provide access to the most used controls of TableConnect, also avoiding complicated menu structures.

To transfer all the necessary data between the host device and TableConnect, we use state of the art technology like HDMI (display signal), Bluetooth (touch signals) and WiFi. TableConnect will offer full iOS & Android connectivity.

One remarkable feature of TableConnect that separates it from all touch devices out there is it’s incredibly beautiful seamless surface. There are no edges that would stop your fingers while swiping and no chance for dirt getting trapped inside the device.

Frequent visitors have an easy life with TableConnect since it’s app provides easy one-touch-pairing making sure you’re ready to touch within seconds.

Since we started this project, we've put a lot of time and money into the development of TableConnect. We developed a fully functional 32 inch proof-of-concept of TableConnect which already assisted in testing new iterations of the software will aid in further development.

To bring TableConnect to the next stage we need your support via this Indiegogo campaign to enable us to progress further and construct a full size 60 inch prototype that will include all the features planned for the final product.

This prototype will also help us to iron out all the hardware and design features and thereby build a platform that will allow us to fine-tune all the software features (like better response time, quick pairing recognition, Smart Areas implementation, etc.) and finally get TableConnect ready for the market.

When we first envisioned TableConnect, we made a YouTube demonstration video but didn’t tell anyone that it was an elaborate visual effects fake. News outlets from around the world jumped onto it - Forbes, The Sun, Engadget, Gizmodo - to name only a few. The video jumped to 2 million views within three days and became the most viewed YouTube video in the world on one day. It was crazy.

And so was the demand. We received hundreds of buying requests for a product that didn’t exist …people really like what we did here and that was the perfect motivation to start development and team up with some ingenious brains to bring TableConnect to life.

We developed the proof-of-concept and came up with a very distinct design for the final product. Now we are at a stage where we are looking for funding to build the 60 inch prototype, our last step before we can enter production and start taking orders for TableConnect.

When will it be available?
Our plan is to get the full-sized prototype built within the next 6 months. After that, we will gear up for production and at the same time sales start. We expect to ship the first orders within 12 - 18 months from now.

How much will it cost?
This is a tough one to answer because it really depends on the demand and costs of production. We expect the 60 inch TableConnect to cost around € 25.000. TableConnect 32 is expected to cost around €15.000.

So even if you are not able to afford one for your private entertainment this does not mean you´ll never be able to use one. If everything works out, you´ll enjoy using TableConnect in shopping malls, restaurants, museums, shops and trade fairs around the world.

Will it work with every iOS device?
TableConnect will be shipped with a fully pre-configured iOS-Device (iPhone or iPad). The minimum hardware requirement for TableConnect host devices will be an iPhone 4, from the current state of production. All iOS devices need a jailbreak at this stage of development. The availability of jailbreaks for different iOS devices and versions of iOS varies greatly. In general it can be said that as long as a jailbreak is applied, an iOS device will be able to be used with TableConnect. We will provide a detailed list of compatible devices and a manual for configuration.

What if you fail to reach the funding target?
In addition we worked out alternative plans to find investors and make our vision a reality.

What if you raise more that EUR 40.000?
With additional money we can speed up the development process and bring TableConnect to the market earlier.

Why can’t you offer TableConnect for sale right away?
Since we cannot guarantee delivery dates we don’t want to make promises we can’t keep. This is also the main reason we decided to take smaller steps toward our goal and reduce legal risks.
