The world needs more hex maps!
Thanks to decades of popular role-playing games, RPGs on square grids are plentiful and readily available. Sometimes, though, you want to play on a hex grid. Hex maps are scarce, despite growing demand for them. Tactical Hex Maps by Grognard's Realm is a beautiful, 24-page, 8x10 booklet featuring 25 maps for dungeon exploring, man-to-man (or man-to-beast) combat, and daring adventures.
- Grognard's Realm is run by "Tollenkar", the administrator of the Discord server The Fantasy Trip, a social network for players of the classic game by Steve Jackson Games. (Tollenkar is a registered trademark of Steve Jackson Games.)
- As a fan of hex-and-counter games, Tollenkar began hand-drawing his own hex maps to fill the void. The intent was always to share these maps with the Fantasy RPG community.
- By contributing to this campaign, you will help proliferate the availability of tactical hex maps, and grow this resource for the community.
While these maps were designed with The Fantasy Trip in mind, they can be used with any FRPG system.
A modest goal
The goal for this campaign is a mere $800.
- If only 75 people bought only one copy of the book, the goal will be met.
- Some of these hex maps are available as professionally-printed hex boards. Five of these maps are available in this crowdfunding campaign, with those maps' scenarios described in the books. These map boards are available as add-ons to those who purchase at least one book.
- If the goal is not met, the funds will be used to produce a first edition short print run of this book, making it a rare collector's item!

- By bringing this project to fruition, the RPG community will have greater access to varied hex maps.
- If successful, this will encourage Grognard's Realm, and others, to increase hex maps' availablity.
