For many, many years we can only see, click or touch the visualized data on screen but you can never take it out or drop in data just right on screen. Is that stupid? Kind of. The data is contained in a box with a glass front panel (called as display) the only way to get the data out/in is to press a button to “send or receive” it from one place to another. It is kind of ridiculous and maybe the largest legacy technology surviving right under our eyes everyday but ignoring by us for so long. 

Why do not we just pick up a piece of data, pictures, text, videos, colors, links right from the surface of screen and drop it onto another screen? That is simple, intuitive and elegant way to engage the data around us. Hard to say we didn't even think about it but all in Sci-Fi stories.

Tagtal tStylus

tStylus is a connector of digital and physic world. With tStylus, you pick up everything you see or draw on the screen and drop down it to anywhere you point on screen just in one movement with no pairing at all. And surely, no shouting, shaking or bumping any more. 

The industry design is extremely simple and elegant. Not a single button on the body of tStylus except the power button at rear.
No need to press any button to switch among send, receive or other operations, all need to do is just touch the OSP with the tip of tStylus. The process of sending, receiving etc. will be conducted as intended and designed.

Tagtal Album is a picture viewing and sharing application powered by OSP.

On Screen ID for Online Pay

You can also lock or unlock your private information with tStylus securely. You just simply use your tStylus to touch the locked content or login zone on the screen to access securely. The device will check the identity of your tStylus to make sure you have authority to copy or access the content. You do not have to entering your password to login. What you need to do is just keep your tStylus safe, as like a touch key. And all this identity check can be done without user’s interfering at all. We call it capacitive fingerprints of your tStylus. That makes human computer interaction is even more fluent and secure.

Open OSP API for Developers

We are going to make OSP API open for all developers. So once you get tStylus you can also create your own Apps or add unique features to your existing Apps with OSP API easily. The first preview of OSP SDK is going to open in September, 2013.

What We already Done and Where We Will Go

The team already spent a year to do some research and prototype tStylus. The first working prototype is built in 2012 coded as MARK. Since it is such an inspiring capacitive stylus in this world ever there is no clues at all in our way to make it real in the very beginning. In last 12 months, we overcame a lot of challenges or even difficulties and found a way out from darkness to turn the idea into a product.

What you see in the pictures or videos are ACTUAL injection samples, NOT PROTOTYPES made from 3D printers.

We designed and built 8 versions of PCB, software running in tStylus. OSP SDK for iOS, OSP Web App for Chrome (Windows and Mac OSX), Apps of Tagtal Paper, Tagtal Album...

And we even shoot and edited the pictures and videos by ourselves (btw, HD video editing is really a tough and 'impossible' job for my 13" MacBook Pro, but I still made it with couple of weeks).

The Future

We're going to add more sensors into tStylus in next version according the demands from the market in near future. For instance, pressure and color sensor.

And we are also planning lots of great features which can not be disclosed yet.

Further more, OSP as a data communication channel can be used in vary situations along with other kind of hardware, e.g. gloves, toy cars which communicates with computers, tablets or phones, or more straight, screens. We just take tStylus as a beginning. What in our pipeline for next are even more incredible cool gears powered by OSP and you will be keep posted down the road.

FAQ

1) What’s the difference between existing stylus and tStylus?

- tStylus can be used as regular capacitance stylus and be able to pick up and drop digital content on surface of screen like chemical dropper. 

2) What screen is tStylus compatible with?

- tStylus is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch Screen, you can also Pick Up on regular screen. 

3) Can I use t-Stylus in Android?

- You can use tStylus on iOS at this moment; we’re now working on Android.

4) How to get a tStylus?

- Please fund this campaign and get tStylus on Indiegogo at this step, we will inform you on Twitter and Facebook if there is any news, please follow us.

5) How does it work?

- General speaking, Tagtal tStylus "pick or drop" URLs or other data (e.g. password, RGB values) through OSP. In most cases,  the actual data of the content will be download form the network in background.

6) Help URGENT Indiegogo has a bug at payment whereby it showed " Please enter your house number or house name"

- Close your browser, reopen the Indiegogo Tagtal page. Uncheck the box ‘same as shipping address’ BEFORE filling out card details, proceed to filling out all the fields that come up below and it will go through.

7) Where the data is stored?

-it is stored internally or in the cloud. tStylus has internal memory, URLs. password, Ids or other small data are stored in tStylus. We're developing UI app to navagate those data. As per cloud , we have our dedicated Tagtal portal servers and storage, currently all user data and history are stored on Tagtal servers. In the future, we will support configuration and connection to Cloud storages such as Dropbox etc., user may configure Cloud settings and choose to store data on their own account.

8) Is my data safe?

- The data transmission protocol is HTTP/HTTPS, and session control is enabled in the whole process. Login request is sent through HTTPS and data transmission is on HTTP with session control. All data are encrypted using AES algorithm before sending out and decrypted after received. On server side, encrypted data are directly stored into storage/DB, so even there is data leak, they are still encrypted and protected.
