Alooo-ha! We are Team Rock
from Hilo, Hawai’i (pronounced he-low not high-low). With a population of 44,000, Hilo is a cozy,
sleepy town that we call our home. Team
Rock is a captivating group of ten female paddlers who are dedicated to life on
the water while living mortal lives in nursing, teaching, biology, real estate,
land management and accounting. Although
we are from a small town, our camaraderie has inspired us to dream so far beyond
the shores of our islands that we are seeking sponsorship and friendly
donations in order to compete in Auckland, New Zealand at the 2014 Tapakuna
Beach Cup.
Team Rock humbly ask for donations to help reach our goal to raise $7000. Your generous donations will help in a number of important ways:
Race entry fees (7km & 42km Race Events)
Canoe and Escort Boat hire
Accommodations/Meals
Transportation (Rental & Gas)
Team Uniforms
The perks of donating to
our team reflect the unique persona and cultural relevance to canoe paddling in
Hawai’i. Every funder will receive a Personalized "Mahalo Nui Loa" (Thank you) card from the team. And as a SPECIAL thank you for your donations, we have custom designed a limited
amount of Team Stickers, Team Rock t-shirts, pareos and reusable bags.
10 women of Team Rock will be traveling to Auckland, New Zealand to compete in the 2014
Takapuna Beach Cup from February 21-23. We will be
competing in the 7 km OC-6 man race and the 42 km OC-6 Change race. We are setting our sights on contending for a
place on the podium.

Paddling canoe has given
us so much more than just physical strength.
It has afforded us another perception of life that teaches us to train
hard, commit, endure and unite for the team.
It has given us the perseverance to live resilient lives outside of
paddling. All of us work in career
fields that benefit our community whether it is helping patients or students,
protecting natural resources or enhancing the quality of life for the people of
Hilo. Therefore, paddling directly impact
our little community on the Big Island of Hawai’i.
