Who We Are and What We Do…
We are The Baylors! A husband and wife duo who have come
together to create something really special.
Many of you may be familiar with us separately, Marcus an established
musician who has held the drum chair with lots of big time folks like Kenny
Garrett, Cassandra Wilson, Yellowjackets and more. You might also remember
hearing Jean on the radio singing hits like ‘Hey Mr. DJ’ and ‘Sending My Love’ or more recently, improvising with legendary artists like Kenny Garrett and Buster Williams. It was only a matter of
time before we put our heads together to make music. The Baylor Project is
something that we believe will take us to the next level. As we have worked with so many great artists,
this jazz project in particular represents a “coming into our own.” It’s chock full of the kind of self-expression
that can only come from creating something that is truly yours. By supporting
The Baylor Project, you will help us complete a body of work that has the
potential to help build our careers and literally change our lives.
How You Can Help…
A few months ago, we were able to record the first half of
our project and it came out great!!! We
realized then that we would need a little assistance. We are so excited to
finish it, but we need your help to do it. We need to raise $15,000 to complete
The Baylor Project’s first CD. This money will go to the final production,
which includes the recording studio (I
personally love this place), mixing and mastering (it’s gotta sound good), video footage (don’t you wanna see???), and a few miscellaneous expenses that come
with this sort of thing (now you know we got to eat) Lol Just Kidding!!! We have some really neat giveaways
for all who can participate. Between the both of us, we’ll be giving away some
of Marcus’ signature drum sticks, voice lessons, drum lessons, signed CD’s, even
an original song written specifically for one of our biggest givers and more! If, for any reason, we are unable to reach our goal, we
will still be able to keep some of the money, but we may not have enough to
finish. But we have faith in you guys!
What Your Giving Means To
Us…
So far, we’ve been blessed to do some really cool things in
music. There was our first project we
produced together, “Testimony: my life story” then there was “Light up the
World” which so many loved and supported. But, there is so much more to do. The
Baylor Project was created so that both of us could express our gifts as
individuals but still work as a unit, bringing all of our musical influences
together on one project. That’s why we KNOW you’re going to love it!!! You’ll
get some of Marcus’ fire-blazing solos, Jean’s scatting and lyrical
interpretations, musical and thoughtful arrangements, great songs, true
musicianship, and some good ole’ fashioned soul. This project has the potential
to inspire people and lift their spirits. It’s life-giving music. And we want
to share it with the world.

It’s not just about the money. I know there are some of you
who would give us a million dollars if you could, but simply can’t. We
understand. We’ve been there. But, there are other things you can do to make
