Book of Esther
Accessible dance and music in an intimate setting, with a 8 month pregnant/sensitive choreographer--what more do you need as an incentive!
Composer/Choreographer Team Ariel Grossman and David Homan are expecting a baby girl in mid-April and this is their last creation before their lives become insane! It will not be their last work, but it will be their last where everyone has their hands free!
- Expanding on Vashti, successfully premiered to 450+ people at Ailey March 2013, Esther tells the story of a Jewish Queen from the Purim story who saved the Jews by risking her life and revealing her true identity as a Jew. This is our interpretation of the Biblical tale done as a contemporary ballet.
- The new score is now an 11 movement work for Clarinet, Violin, Guitar, Cello, and Piano, and you get to hear it live at the show (and then it'll be released as a recording). David's last CD was played on over 127 radio stations in the US and Canada!
- Alongside our work, we are presenting two fabulous companies Texture Contemporary Ballet and Trainor Dance.

- Spread the word and send everyone to www.arielrivkadance.com to buy tickets!
- Post this at least 5 times and our metrics will go up!
Who Cares about Dance? It turns out a lot of people do! We've gone from 4 (thanks to both of our moms and dads) to more than 130 supporters a year, and our audiences in 3 years have grown from 145 to 450 for a single season.
- Dance with live music, focusing on a narrative like Esther/Vashti help bring people together, and help them understand what to look for without the "words" they are accustomed to.
- Even if you can't see the work, you'll be able to view the work online afterwards and above $50 or $100 receive David's CD of the work and/or a T-Shirt
- "Make it real for people and build trust." Indiegogo suggested this line, we decided to keep it in.....think about it.
