What this is all about.
The Day After Show was created to add an extra day to the already amazing nerd music festival Nerdpalooza. There are just too many great acts out there to fit into 3 days, and we wanted to provide them all an opportunity to share the spotlight for the amazing fan base that made shows like MAGfest and Nerdapalooza possible in the first place.

Now, some history about the event...
About a decade ago (feel old yet?), Damian Hess, aka. MC Frontalot, rapped some lyrics to a song and labled his musical musings as "Nerdcore Hip-Hop". Nerdcore was a seed that had been planted by many other artists over the years crossing the vast fields known today as the internet, which was too large for the seeds to sprout and survive on their own. It was then decided by Jason Christie, aka. "High-C" that these seeds required a special irrigation system to connect them together to allow for their safe pollination and growth. This irrigation system was named "RhymeTorrents". Many farmers of the strange vegitation known as Nerdcore came forth to help cultivate this amazing new musical genre... er... um.... plant.
Many famous farmers were a part of this cultivation. First there was John "Hex" Carter, who desired to cross pollinate Nerdcore with his already popular Chiptunes and VG Rock crops, and formed a link with local Orlando farmers union 407, which was made up of Rob "mCRT" Tobias, EMPulse Records, and Nick "Sir-up" Carmen, Eric "Chozo Ninpo" Wright, and many others. Soon after, this collection of savy farmers created the Nerdapalooza Farmers Market in order to help spread the news of this amazing music.
What is "The Day After" show?
After a few years, the Nerdapalooza Farmers Market had grown to a very large size, and a few the founding farmers started going in their own directions. Some stayed on with the market, some retired, and some opened up their own markets in far away lands to help spread the crop even further.
One day, Chozo Ninpo felt that the original Market had grown larger than the property that it was held on, and noticed that some of the seeds were just too overcrowded in the provided space. He purchased some land next to the Farmers Market, and named it "The Day After" Show, which was open on Monday, which was (quite convienantly) The Day After the Nerdpalaooza Farmers Market. He felt that this allowed for the Market to expand and gave the customers an even larger selection of crop to choose from.
Where are we now?
As you know, Nerdapalooza has been successful for 5+ years now and The Day After is entering it's 3rd year, but times have been tough for the Farmers, and after the drought last year with the economic collapse, the funding is in danger of being too short to continue with the extra day this time.
This is where you come in.
I'm not too proud to tell you that this year, I'm going to need your help in order to be able to do "The Day After" show. Coming out of pocket for the extra land needed to expand the Market has really affected me with the crazy job market and increased cost just to survive these days. (I mean what's up with gas prices? I remember when it was 99 cents)
I hate asking for help, I really do. So instead of just hitting the corners and begging for money I've contacted several of our past sponsors and supporters and have worked out prizes for this Indie-Go-Go campaign in order to raise the fundage required.
What does my donation go towards?
All money raised by this campaign goes directly into The Day After Show, and any required shipping for the items that you will be donating to win.
This includes Venue costs (rental fees), Performer costs, Promotional costs (flyers, ads), and of course the Shipping for any items that need sent from this Indie-Go-Go.
What if we break the crap out of the goal?
Anything that goes over the initial 2500.00 goal will also go directly into the show in order to make it a better show. Headliners that usually cost more money will be able to be acquired with extra fundage. More money means more artists performing at the show.
Other Ways You Can Help
I get that the market out there is still terrible. Hell, it's why I had to do this Indie-Go-Go in the first place. But even if you can't donate yourself, here's what you can do to help us out:
- Tell everyone you know about this campaign!
- Share this campaign on your Social Networks!
- Mention it on your podcast, videos, websites!
Last and far from least...
Thank you for your time in checking out this crazy campaign.
Thank you in advance for your donations, for spreading the word, and in short for making this show a possibility again.
I <3 you! -Chozo
