A Summary
Greetings
all, my name is Omar Tyree, a New York
Times bestselling and award-winning author. I first became known in my
hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as in Washington, DC,
Baltimore, Maryland and in New York City as a celebrated writer of contemporary
urban fiction. After self-publishing my first three books at age 23, 24 and 25
in the early 1990s, I went on to publish 14 straight novels with the publishing
house of Simon & Schuster from 1995 to 2008, selling more two million
copies worldwide.
However,
the publishing industry has changed drastically since the 1990s and early 2000s,
and so has my writing. Many national bookstores have closed down, while ebook
technology has opened up. And after publishing more than a dozen urban American
stories; including Flyy Girl, A Do Right Man, For The Love of Money, Just
Say No! and The Last Street Novel—all
listed at OmarTyree.com—I realized that there was a much bigger world out there
to write impactful stories about and other ways to introduce those stories to thousands
of readers.
So
I created the Ebook Nation, where writers with big ideas, including novelists,
filmmakers and playwrites could all present their work—as originally
conceived—with an innovative business approach of celebrity marketing
participation. In other words, if you have a great book or film idea with
superstars like, Brad Pitt or Will Smith in mind for lead characters—and your story
ideas are good enough—the Ebook Nation will professionally edit, publish and
market them, while offering a participation agreement to Brad Pitt or Will
Smith to help market and promote the ebooks as well as to acquire the film
rights. So the bigger the ideas with international stars and reach, the better.
This
is the Ebook Nation, a whole new way of creating, publishing and marketing
great new stories. And with your small but monumental help, we could all kickoff
2014 with the explosive bang of New Year’s Eve energy!
What Is Needed?
In
the industry of publishing, original ebooks are nowhere near as expensive as print.
In the old-school print model, supplying a thousand books for a thousand readers
would cost thousands of dollars. But in the new-school era of ebooks, there is
no printing cost at all. Readers are able to download their desired list of books
to ebook reading devices, cutting out the cost of printing, packaging and
shipping entirely. Not to mention the cost of warehouse or storage space.
However,
there are still costs involved in hiring professional editors to help improve
the content. There is no shortcutting the editing process if a publisher desires
to produce quality work. There are also costs involved in graphic art design and
photography for great, eye-popping cover jackets, as well as costs involved in
online marketing to promote the work.
So
we calculated a very small, start-up budget of $20,000 which would allow us to
employ several quality editors, several innovative graphic designers and key
online marketing experts. Once thousands of ebook readers grow to love our
books, our brand, our website and our upcoming list of new titles at
EbookNationInc.com, the company would quickly capitalize itself in the absence
of expensive overheads.
What Is The Impact?
Ultimately,
the impact of the Ebook Nation Inc. company will be all about the books and the
execution of our innovative model. Presently, we have started the Fall 2013 launch
with four Omar Tyree novels, including “The Traveler” series as a new-wave
“James Bond” vehicle and an international thriller. The Fast & The Furious
film star, Paul Walker, won our reader survey at TheTravelerBooks.com last year.
The majority of our readers viewed Paul Walker as an ideal lead for international
hero “Gary Stevens” in the No Turning
Back prequel as well as the upcoming Welcome
to Dubai to be published in December.
In
November, the Ebook Nation launches The
Sneaker Kings, developed as a perfect, feature film vehicle for young music
icon, Justin Bieber. In September, Psychadelic,
a music-inspired road comedy film idea—with several musician cameos in mind, including
rapper/actor Common—was novelized and released as an ebook. The title is
presently for sale for all ebook devices and agreements remain open for celebrity
participation in marketing as well as for film rigts.
With
25 published books in 21 years, including six original ebooks and more titles
in the works, I am very qualified to run a successful publishing company. I’ve
earned 21 years of publishing known-how. We now look forward to a small helping
hand of start-up capital to enable us to publish five to six ebooks a month,
with great book and film ideas from you.
