After looking at the existing chargers in the market, we decided that there has to be a better solution than those battery packs with misleading LED indicators. Not only that, but they also don't have enough power, or are too heavy, have a short battery life, out of style, or claim to hold more charge than they actually. 

That is why we developed the Fig: the first mobile power bank to offer a live organic LED display that accurately tells its user how much charge is remaining, and what exactly is going on with their device. Whether you need to charge your Iphone, Android phone, camera, tablet, handheld toy, or your USB flash light. The Fig displays the actual current that is drained by your device to help you determine if your device is working and charging properly or not. Now that is cool!

Our Goal:

Our challenges:

Our biggest challenge was working on the hardware design. When designing from scratch, there are so many different options and paths to choose from that make it that much harder to start the design. But after studying all of our options and deciding on the design path, everything else fell in place. We received a lot of helpful tips from different industry experts in terms of circuit design, SW development, CAD design (Mechanical), and manufacturing. Obviously there were a lot of bumps along the road, and technical difficulties, but with persistence and hard work, we were able to overcome these challenges. 

Now, we have one final obstacle before we can bring the Fig into production. That is why we need your help and support to pay for some of the tooling costs. We also want to perform some testing in approved labs to have proper certification before going out into the market. Below is a breakdown of the remaining costs that we need to address:

The Fig

As we stated previously, most backup batteries in today's market only offer a 3 or 4 LED indicator for the remaining battery charge. A lot of times these LED's are very misleading because of the cheap and inaccurate design. Not only that, but a majority of the these power banks claim to hold a charge that they truly don’t because of the low battery grade they use. Otherwise they are too bulky or unattractive. 

The Fig solves all of these issues by accurately indicating the exact charge remaining in your battery with a percentage indicator. Also, it lets you know exactly what your battery is doing, whether charging or discharging, and how much current your mobile device is drawing. It also comes in a light weight, modern, and eye catching design that is sure to attract attention when used around friends or family. Last but not least; quality. The Fig is made using the highest grade material, (internally and externally), uses the latest processes and technologies, and uses a battery that has a longer life than competing chargers.
