Short Summary
Hey guys! We are John Tuccillo & Jacob Kirby, the writers and directors of The Killers, inspired by the work of Charles Bukowski. We are both currently Film & Television students at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia and have been working together on different projects for the past few years.
The Killers is a story about Harry, a man who’s hit rock bottom. He's confronted by an unstable conman, William, about his plan to rob the house of a newly-wed couple. Thinking it’s going to be an easy way to make a couple bucks, the two soon learn just how far they are willing to go, when they discover that the homeowners haven't left.
This is something that we have been planning to adapt into a short film for quite a while now. We are both fans of Charles Bukowski's work, and we felt that this specific story is an excellent candidate for adaptation. In our opinion, Bukowski is a writer that relates to our generation on a very pesonal level. His lifestyle and attitude was something that many of us, whether we know it or not, aspire to achieve. One of our favorite quotes by Bukowski, that has inspired our filmmaking proccess is, "Find what you love and let it kill you." We are making this project because we love the story, we love the characters, and most importantly, we love the message.
We are very passionate about every production that we are a part of, and the same goes for this one. This is the first time we have had to reach out to people for their support. We have been preparing this project for several months now, and we are rapidly approaching the start of the production phase, and even with all that preperation, we still need help securing resources to do this project right. This is where you guys come in!!!

The Impact
As we already told you guys, this short film is inspired by a short story by Charles Bukowski! If you haven't heard of this man, we suggest you look him up. He is one of the greatest authors of all time and his work is accessable to everyone. His thoughts on life, love, social progress and a lack thereof are extermely entertaining and relateable. Check out some of this guys storys and when you're done support our cause!
For those of you who aren't fully aware of who we are, this will be the third short film we have wrote together and the first that we are co-directing! If you are interested, the other two projects are Moving On & Grandma's Gone Wild.
