Thank you!

The campaign has now ended and we are very happy with the result! Thank you all!

The books have been printed and sent out to the contributors, but we still have some left. If you want a book or PDF, you can buy them on our website.

The project:

The Larpfactory Book Project will be a collection of 22 Norwegian ready-to-play larpscripts, written in English, and a website containing game materials and videos showing all methods and techniques mentioned in the book. The larps have all been run in The Larp Factory in Oslo and/or Trondheim - loosely organized networks that have been putting up low threshold stand-alone larps regularly for the last four years, and inspired larpers in other European cities to do the same. The book contains everything from relationship dramas, time travel dramas, existential dramas, teenage angst, murder mysteries to straight out comedies.

Who are we?
A lot of people are involved in this project, as writers, copyeditors, layouters, inspirators, supporters, translators, practical helpers, feedback givers and more. All the manuscripts are written by the original larp designers. It is edited by experienced larpers and larp designers Trine Lise Lindahl, and Elin Nilsen (NO), and larper, author and experienced editor Lizzie Stark (US). It will be published by Rollespilsakademiet (DK).

What We Need & What You Get

To be able to print the book, we need to know that people are interested in buying it!

The more people who pre-order, the easier it is for us to estimate how many copies to print. We don't want to print too few, and because this is a 100% non-profit project, we really can't afford to be left with a ton of unsold books.

Your alternatives to support us:

5 EUR: You get a hug the next time we meet.

10 EUR: You get a hug AND your name on our web page.

15 EUR: You get a .pdf copy of the book emailed to you and your name on our web page.

25 EUR: You get the book and may pick it up at one of the following festivals or larps:

Grenselandet (NO), Stockholm Scenario Festival (SE), Blackbox Copenhagen (DK), Halat hisar (FI) or another place if you make an agreement with us beforehand.

30 EUR: You get the book in your mailbox.

65 EUR: You get a book for yourself, and we give one to a larper in a country where these prices are outrageous. (For example, Belarus, Palestine, Lebanon or others.)

*ALL REWARDS BEYOND THE 15 EUR LEVEL WILL RECEIVE A DIGITAL COPY OF THE BOOK*

The Impact

The larps from the Larp Factory have been in high demand from larpers in other countries. The few that have made it into a manuscript have been played all over Europe, the Middle East and in South and North America. If you support this project you contribute to bringing these larps and the concept of chamber larps out to more people. And you get the chance to play them yourself!

With making an archive of videos of methods and techniques used in the manuscripts, we aim to equip future designers with tools they can use to make their own larps.

Money we receive that is not payment for a book goes to print more books, to cover other expenses in the project (video, web page etc) and to cover possible losses. And international paypal fees. Any profit goes straight back into larp activity.

Support our growing community!
