Short Summary

I will keep this simple. My name is Gregg Deal. I am a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Nation, and the artist behind The Last American Indian On Earth. Recently I got an article in the Huffington Post and have been gaining some ground on the already exsisting documentation of this ongoing performance piece. In the excitement, I have had a number of people inquire about being able to contribute to this project. It is ongoing, which means I am still working on it, and will continue to work on it. By means of photography and video, I am compiling enough information to produce a short film about this project and the social implications of it. Any money going into this is coming out of my own pocket or through donations. This campaign is here for you to donate, support, or share as it continues.

What I Need

Donation funds go to the following:

  • equipment
  • travel (gas, food, tolls, etc.)
  • materials/props
  • fees associated with film production
  • general support
There are a few goals in place, and these donations will most certainly contribute in that. I would like to get to some other cities like NYC, Boston, and even West coast cities.

The Impact

So much of this project is about Indigenous people and the way people interact with them and perceive them. While my set up is 'hyper-percieved', it still illustrates the point from all sides. As a social project this becomes invaluable in being a clear indication about the tone and attitude towards our nation's Indigenous, thus beginning a dialog concerning race relations between Natives and non-Natives.

What You Get

There are a number of incentives listed below. In addition to the performance work, I am a working artist. I have a number of existing pieces and also take commissions if there is something I do that you like, or would like me to create. I work as an artist full time and can do custom work, just let me know!

Other Ways You Can Help

Donations are obviously helpful, but you are not required to give your money in order to support. I am a full time working artist, and I have existing works available and am always accepting commissions. Additionally, there is always more to do than just giving money, buying my art or commissioning me for something. There are a slew of links below that show the progress, the goals, the interaction and even ways to get involved listed below. Share, like and engage!
