The Lovin’ Soap Project
The Lovin' Soap Project provides women with the skills and knowledge to make and sell soap as an artisan business to support their families. By owning their own business and earning an income women can:
- Feed their families
- Educate their children, especially girls
- Access and pay for medical care
- Attain a sense of dignity
- Achieve an elevated status in the household
- Create a legacy to pass on through knowledge of a trade
- Obtain a measure of success and prosperity
We need your support!
The Lovin' Soap Project is actively working in Haiti, currently supporting two groups, OFEDA and HAPI. Even though Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world, it is expensive travel and conduct business in-country. Teaching trips require airfare, drivers and local transport, translators, food for workshop participants, supplies, lodging, and other expenses that add up quickly.
The Lovin’ Soap Project is funded personally by our team members and by donations raised through crowdfunding sites such as this.
Your support helps these workshops become a reality and provides these groups with supplies to make soap!
We've Done Some Good, But There's Lots of Work Ahead!
So far this year, Amanda has been to Haiti with various teams four times. These groups need continuing support and education, as well as supplies until their businesses are able to sustain themselves. Our goal is to be in Haiti at least every two months to provide supplemental instruction, business and marketing workshops, and to assist them in any way possible as they work toward success.
We appreciate everyone who has supported our project and continues to do so! We can’t do this without your help.
Can’t donate? There are other ways you can help!
