The Megile of Itzik Manger is an incredibly fun and deeply meaningful show. It is a perfect introduction to the world of Yiddish culture.

We want to share it with every student that we can bring to the theater.

You can help make this happen!

The show will be presented just in time for Purim, for two weeks only, from March 2 – 16, 2014 at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (at 25th Street) in New York City.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Very few members of the youngest generation have parents or grand-parents who speak Yiddish and in today’s crowded educational curriculum, students rarely have an opportunity to learn about this rich and vibrant culture.  So it is up to us to teach them what Yiddish
is and why it matters.

WHAT WE WILL DO WITH THE MONEY

We will provide subsidized student tickets, a digital study guide for students and teachers and in-class workshops with teaching artists.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

You will have our deepest gratitude and the proud knowledge that you helped provide an important formative experience for young people.

And of course we have a few perks, including tickets to an exclusive Purim-eve performance with a pre-show Megile reading in Yiddish and a post-show reception.

The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your contribution is tax deductible.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP

Whether you are able to contribute financially or not, there are still plenty of other ways to get involved.

·Forward this to a friend.

·Make a shidukh (a match) with a school interested in bringing students to see the show.

·Volunteer in our office, at our membership table in the lobby or even back stage.  Just give us a call at 212-213-2120.

·Come to see the show and bring your friends.

·Help us spread the word.
