Hi there! we are brothers, Andrew (Writer/Director) and Oliver Pengilley (Producer), and we are an independent filmmaking team based in the South West of England and the Midlands. Since 2007 we have been producing self-funded short films from original material. Enjoying screenings at film festivals around the world, the most recent being The Cannes Film Festival. Our short films can be viewed on our website www.distinctfilms.com.

We are now embarking on our next professionally produced short film 'The Mirror Tree'.

Film Synopsis

An introverted boy is given a magic leaf from The Mirror Tree that transports him to another world. There, with the help of a few unlikely new friends, he must overcome his inner struggles to save a young woman from the mysterious power of The Mirror Tree.   

Why We Need Your Support

We have a great deal of passion for this ambitious project (we don't embark on a film unless we do - but sadly that passion outweighs the means), which is why we need your help!

The money raised here will go towards actor and crew fees. Camera and sound equipment hire, catering and location fees and all the other little things that will inevitably crop up. We are having some fantastic puppets made especially for the film, and if you decide to collaborate with us on this project, you'll get to see how the the puppets are made, as well as exclusive video-blogs giving you access to all aspects of the production!
