In the video above, director Adam Schabow discusses the synopsis of the film and describes his cinematic influences. A fascination with Hitchcock's classic Psycho inspired Schabow to film The New World Horror in black and white. The New World Horror also pays homage to classic films like Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and even 80s cult classics like Gremlins and Alligator. "It's gonna be a fun adventure, horror, dark humor, and gory film. It's gonna be really bloody and gory. It's gonna be REALLY bloody and gory," said Schabow.
We are a group of committed filmmakers, digital storytellers, artists, actors, musicians, writers, and rabble-rousers brought together by Adam Schabow (Blogging Blue, Dane101, Rants Without Pants, The Shabelles, Christmas in April). Schabow's frustration with the current political landscape of his home state and country, along with his love of classic horror films, inspired the idea for The New World Horror.
The New World Horror is a full-length Wisconsin-based film shooting in the summer of 2014. A stylish take on the zombie genre, with a nostalgic feel and respect towards cinematic details, it tells the story of eight strangers who find life turned upside down when a demonic virus from hell transforms those at a local Tea Party rally into zombies. It’s Night of the Living Dead-meets-Evil Dead as the survivors band together to fend off the approaching End Times.

WE need you!!!!!!! We need people that are crazy about zombies, independent filmmaking, and Wisconsin filmmaking to help us make the best film we can. TNWH has a full cast and crew, most of our equipment, plus an amazing script, but we need funds for production. We feel we have a modest goal here on Indiegogo, but we want to be as transparent as possible about how we are spending your contributions. Contributions raised here will go right back into the production of this film, and your contributions will help us make the highest quality movie possible, including funds for the following:
-BLOOD!!! (The more you pay, the more we bleed)
-wardrobe
-food for cast and crew during filming
-money for distribution
-more blood, prosthetics, and make-up for our zombies
-props
-marketing

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!
Adam
is so dedicated to this movie that he is willing to embarrass himself
for your viewing pleasure. If we surpass our $5,000 goal, Adam will
release a film he made with his friends during high school called
"Rambo, First Blood Part Two Seen at Least 3 or 4
Times By Most 5 or 6 Year Olds."
-
NEW STRETCH GOAL!
$6,000 stretch goal. All backers will
receive a behind-the scenes e-book of photos and interviews that
appear on our blog.
- $7,500 stretch goal. If we reach this stretch goal, we will release a digital
graphic novel consisting of our storyboard drawings to all of our
contributors.
- $10,000 stretch goal: All of our cast and crew
are currently volunteering their time for this film. If we hit $10,000, we want to pay everyone for their hard work with the excess
proceeds raised. It won't rival a movie star's salary, but it will allow
our hardworking cast and crew to have a few cocktails and a meal on us.
- $12,000 stretch goal. Making of video. A behind the scenes look as we make our horror flick. Interviews with cast and crew. Available to all who back the project.

While it is true the zombie market is saturated with zombie films, books, tv shows, and zombie events, our film stands out as a black and white film with political undertones. Ever watched CNN or Fox News and thought that a group of protesters with misspelled signs seemed like they were blindly following the rhetoric of their party instead of thinking for themselves? That was the inspiration for The New World Horror. What if these extremists were attacked by a demonic virus and became actual zombies? You can't get much scarier than that folks.
Everyone involved with this project is volunteering their time and talent, and while we may have plenty of other resources like cheese and beer in Wisconsin, every dollar raised for this campaign will help us create a terrifying and amazing Midwestern horror film. Please consider contributing!
