I am writing this to ask for your financial
help in producing the 2015 Providence Folk Festival. This will be the second
year of the festival and it is always the hard to raise funding. We have do
have some funding but require much more to make the event a success. There are
a LOT of hidden costs,
as well as the obvious ones in producing a festival. We must cover advertising,
staging, tents, sound, lights, sanitation, licenses, talent fees and many other
production costs. Hear In Rhode Island is a non-profit organization and is
experienced with festival and event production. HIRI
started and ran the Hear In Rhode Island Festival from 1994-2001. That festival
presented over 100 acts on four stages during the two day event. Hear In RI
also produced a stage at the Newport Folk Festival for nine years. Currently, HIRI
books acts for the Newport Concert Series Point stage and occasional main stage
opening acts. For the past five years HIRI
has been producing the Downtown Sundown Series at Roger Williams National Memorial
in downtown Providence.
This successful series involves 5-6 shows spaced out over the summer months.
Roger Williams National Memorial is a beautiful park and is the actual location
of the original Providence
settlement back in 1636. In addition to all the previously mentioned
events, HIRI
has produced many other shows, CDs, workshops and more. HIRI
is a certified non-profit organization operating under the 501(c)(3) code. All
donations are tax deductible. We have set up different levels of sponsorship
that make it easy for you to help. There are also perks involved such as
t-shirts, pins, signed posters and more. Please check for specific levels for
the specific perks. The BIGGEST perk of all will be the SATISFACTION in knowing
that you helped something great happen. We hope that you can assist us and more
than anything we hope that you will come to the festival on Sunday, August
30th. Thank you!
