My name is Victor Cruz and I am an actor and director from New York City. I started out as an actor and have been working professionally since 2003. Some of my TV and Film Credits include: Annie (2014), The Other Woman (2014), House of Cards (Recurring), Blue Bloods (Recurring), Person of Interest, Side Effects, and The Taking Of Pelham 1:23.
Between 2004 - 2005 I decided to take on the behind the scenes world of film and television into my own hands in hopes of creating better opportunities for myself as an actor. In the process, I fell in love with writing, producing, and directing and have been doing it ever since.
Since then, I have produced over 20 comedies, 2 dramatic short films, 2 comedy concerts, and a sketch comedy show on DVD entitled THE VICTOR CRUZ SHOW Vol. 1: Who Is Victor Cruz?
Today I'm producing my first feature film as a producer and director and I'm looking to raise $200K to bring that dream to life.
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY -- We plan on shooting this entire film in the community of East Harlem in New York City. In the process we plan on giving back by creating jobs for residents and hiring small businesses to provide anything from Catering to Craft Services. Since our story takes place in a clothing store, we will need to purchase or acquire a large amount of clothing to dress our set. Once we are done with our film, we are going to donate every single piece of clothing to programs in the community that support families in need.
MY BIGGER VISION -- To create what Spike Lee did in Brooklyn and DeNiro did in Tribeca. Making East Harlem my home base for producing films and encouraging other companies to shoot films there. By doing this, we support the community of East Harlem. My community.
The film is called THE STOCKROOM, a new comedy that takes place in a fictitious clothing store in New York City. We follow the story of Joseph Rodriguez, the stockroom supervisor who once had a dream to be a stand up comedian, but in the process of working, lost focus of his goals and journey. The film takes place in one day, and today Joseph is scheduled to be promoted to assistant manager. This good news only last for a little bit, when the corporate office steps in and gives his position away to one of their own guys. Joseph is upset and nearly has a breakdown in the stockroom. In the process, his dream to become a stand up comedian begins to resurface. Joseph will have to decide whether he is going to honor his dream or continue to be a prisoner to his daily routine.

Our goal is to raise the entire $200,000.00 by the end of November. In the event that we cannot raise the full amount, my producers and I are prepared to make this film happen based on the budget that we are able to raise. IndieGoGo will allow us to keep whatever funds we do raise, so either way we win. This film is going to happen no matter what. That is how much faith we have in the project and within our abilities to produce an amazing looking film at a very low cost.
