What's The Streak About?
A young man attempts to honour the memory of his dead father – and get the upper hand in an inter-generational family grudge - by ending his obnoxious uncle’s streak of backyard cricket games without being dismissed.
The Cast
Roy Billing
Roy is a veteran of over 30 feature films including The Dish, Rabbit Proof Fence, The Chronicles of Narnia and many more. In Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities he played notorious gangster "Aussie" Bob Trimbole, a role that won him Best Lead Actor in a TV Drama at the 2009 AFI Awards.
He will soon appear in the forthcoming Network 10 series Wonderland and he has also recently completed the third Jack Irish telemovie with Guy Pearce.

Rowan Howard
Rowan is a Queensland actor based on the Sunshine Coast. He has appeared in the short films A Change in Fortune and Clara, and has been featured in several national television commercial campaigns including Holden Colorado and Cenovis Mens Multi Vitamins.
Rowan has performed extensively on stage appearing in productions of Les Miserables, The Lion in Winter, Grease, Pride and Prejudice, and many others.

Emma Plant
Emma is a Queensland-based actor with extensive experience on both stage and screen. She has appeared in numerous short films including Another Brick and The Dreamer, and has appeared as an extra in the feature film The Ghost of Victoria Park.
Emma has appeared in numerous stage productions, including playing Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet. She is currently appearing in the production Outside the Box as part of the Brisbane Short and Sweet festival.

Dean Kellher
Dean has been involved in the film and television industry for the past six years. In that time he has been cast as the the lead character in two feature films and worked in a variety of short films.
His most recent television appearance was in the Radio Rentals national commercial which is currently airing.

Who We Are?
The Streak, was one of a select group of short films being developed by QPIX and was awaiting a decision on financing. Unfortunately due to government funding cuts, QPIX has cancelled their entire slate and is unable to provide finance for The Streak. This means that we now need to fund the entire project on our own. We need your help!
The Streak is being directed by up and coming Brisbane filmmaker Michael Gillett, produced by Gold Coast based Vanessa Rose and was written by Brisbane writer Dan Pollard.

What We Need & What You Get
All our crew have donated their time and skills to make The Streak, but we still need funds to
- Pay for the equipment (camera and sound gear)
- Pay for the props and set dressing
- Feed the cast and crew
Every dollar raised will go directly into production costs and all our contributors will be invited to our official The Streak Family Christmas Party in December!
The Impact
Your contribution will help our crew transition from emerging filmmakers to working professionals. The talented young filmmakers working on The Streak are on the verge of big things. Imagine being able to say you helped launch the career of the next Jane Campion or Baz Lurhmann!
Helping get The Streak into production will also give us a chance to be in the running for Tropfest, the largest short film festival in the world. Tropfest’s deadline is three months away and we are on schedule to film late August if we reach our funding goal.

I am thrilled to be involved with a project which celebrates suburban Australia in all its flaws and oddities, so sharply and honestly. I hope that this film will bring a lot of joy to the underdogs, reluctant heroes, tall poppies and piss-takers, and to all the innocent bystanders caught up between them.
For this film I'm drawing influence from a long history of screen culture which favours Australian wit and ideology over ambition and spectacle. Too often are the themes of Crocodile Dundee and The Castle and The Dish overlooked in pursuit of a Hollywood aesthetic, particularly in short film. Sydney production company Jungleboys reminds us that these themes are timeless, and are there to be evolved and adapted for the new media and new audiences.
There is a pace and rhythm and momentum to this project which is exciting all of us to get our hands dirty, and with the right people on board we're going to put together a great aussie short film.
