If you are like us, you likely do not have a solid evasion plan in place for when you are illegally restrained with handcuffs. Certainly you could pick the lock if you had an appropriate implement and are also not under duress, but why take the risk? Since there is not a handcuff evasion solution that works for us, we created one. Introducing the TIHK | Tiny Inconspicuous Handcuff Key. Evade Unlawful Restraint.

The clip enables easy attachment to your clothing so it is ready when needed. Its minimal, low-profile design and low-visibility coating ensure that it can be carried inconspicuously and go undetected when detained. Designed to fit all standard "peerless" single and double-lock handcuffs.

With the TIHK you now have a solution to evade detainment. For law enforcement, military, and security professionals this may include being restrained with their own cuffs, captured person release and evading capture themselves.

The TIHK is meant to be part of your Everyday Carry so it is there when you need it. Attach it where you can easily access it when cuffed: jeans belt loop, pants pocket, shirt tag, socks or even on the inside of your pants or underwear waistband.

The design has been refined over the last 6 months with several rounds of prototypes - tweaking various dimensions and optimizing the design. Now that the design is finalized and patent filed, the TIHK is ready to begin the transition to manufacturing.

That is where you come in. Funding is needed to move forward with tooling and production of the TIHK. By selecting one of the available perks, you will help us in reaching our goal.

One of the perks includes a Limited Challenge Coin commemorating the launch of the TIHK, currently limited to 250 pieces. There may even be Coin-holder only benefits down the road. You can find out more about Challenge Coins here: Wikipedia.

Since development work of the product is complete, work can begin on tooling and production once this crowdfunding campaign is over (mid-September) and funds received from IndieGoGo (1-2 weeks thereafter). Once received it will immediately go towards the deposit on the tooling. Tooling has been estimated to be 4-6 weeks and production at 2 weeks. Fulfillment of the perks will be during the first half of December, if everything else goes as planned.

The TIHK will proudly be Made in the USA and support American workers.

As with bringing any product to market, there may be unforeseen challenges that occur while bringing the TIHK towards the proverbial product development finish line. Our team has many years of bringing products to market, particularly in the shooting, hunting and outdoor market. The biggest risk is schedule creep due to issues that arise while tooling the product. We've done extensive sourcing and qualification to ensure that those risks can be mitigated if they occur.

The TIHK is to only be used to counter illegal detainment and in accordance with all local, state and federal laws by trained law enforcement, military and security professionals. Improper use by civilians is not endorsed or encouraged. Use of the product is at your own personal risk and discretion.

What material is the TIHK made of? The exact material is not finalized at this point but will be during the course of the campaign. We are evaluating various die-casting allows such as zinc, magnesium and aluminum but also high-strength reinforced polymers. The final material will most certainly be resistant to corrosion and be as lightweight as possible (currently between 1/3 to 1 gram depending on material).

What color will the TIHK be? The TIHK will have a dark, low-visibility finish to ensure no unwanted attention is drawn to it.

What is the legality of the TIHK? We encourage civilians to investigate the law in their own jurisdiction. It is typically not against the law to own or possess a handcuff key as a civilian, however, using such an implement to evade law enforcement is certainly unlawful. Let us be clear: This product is not designed to be used to evade law enforcement.
