Short Summary
Hello everyone, my name is Meg Quisenberry and I am one of the executive producers for the film The Wind is Watching. This is the first major feature film from Conrad Studios and Sector 8 Films and it was an enormous undertaking for our cast and crew. Most of the people involved with the production are in their early twenties and just starting out in this field, but worked with as much dedication as people with years of experience. The talent and hard work that went into making this film was unbelievable and I am proud of everyone.
The reason I am starting this campaign is to finance the last bit of post-production. We need to hire a visual effects artist, pay for the rights to music and hire someone to do the final audio mixing. We were hoping to have this done by Christmas, but I want to make sure the effects and score are up to par with film and that means we really do need to hire people with professional skills.
The completion of this film means a lot to me and everyone else who worked on it. We put countless hours into achieving this dream, with a lot of people volunteering their time simply for the love of film and to share this experience with friends. This is the final stretch and we are so close to seeing it realized. With your help, I will make sure that this film is finished to the quality that everyone has come to expect.
I'll also be starting a weekly blog so you can follow along with the progress of the film and our fundraising campaign. The links for the blog will be posted on the film's Facebook page, so be sure to check out the link at the bottom and like the page to follow along. You'll get an exciting (and sometimes not so exciting) look at the post production process and some never before seen behind the scenes footage and on set photographs.
What We Need & What You Get
We are looking for $3,000 to hire a visual effects artist, pay for the rights to music for the movie, and hire someone experienced with audio to finalize the mixing of our audio tracks and to do dialogue replacement in a couple scenes where machinery had to be running while lines were being read.
There are three levels of funding. I'm not expecting large donations from any one person, as I know that many of you who will see this have been with us the whole way and have most likely contributed funding at one point already. What I ask is that you share this page, even if you can't contribute money. We only need 300 people to donate $10 to reach our goal and I think that we can do it.
At the $10 level, you will receive a public thanks on our film's Facebook page and your name in the "special thanks" section of the film's credits.
At the $30 level, you will receive a public thanks on our film's Facebook page, your name in the "special thanks" section of the film's credits and a free ticket to the film's screening.
At the $100 level, you will receive all the aforementioned rewards along with a free copy of the film on blu-ray.
If we don't reach our goal, the funds we do raise will still go towards completion of the film, with the hiring of the visual effects artist the first priority.
