A paper craft 3d camera?

Hi, my name is Jairo, I studied Aerospace Engineering and have a degree in Film School from the Dutch Film Academy. After school I started working as a freelancer  and worked as a visual effects artist on commercials.

When I had the idea of shooting 3d movies with my iPhone I started to prototype and it worked. My challenge is to find a cheap way to let you guys participate. Unfortunately it is not as simple as installing an app from the app store. You need a way to physically record two images with a slightly different perspective.

I used 3d modelling software to figure out the dimensions. The final design is a combination of a single piece of cardboard and four metal parts. The app for shooting the movies is already in the app store.

Fund me!

With the money now available, I investigated a good printing company which can deliver sturdy 400 grams laminated cardboard, it is very good for the model. Also there are two mirror plates underway from China, awesome!

Now I have to figure out how to further produce. Cutting thin metal sheet precisely is annoyingly hard to do and therefore very expensive. Also the cutting plan for the paper is pretty complex. 

I need money to work this out, visit fabrication labs to develop my prototyping skills and even batch produce the parts needed myself if need. These are the perks I have on offer:

What Else?

So plan A is get a group of people interested to try this invention of mine and use their money to work out the production of the models. I will keep everyone up to date on my decisions and make photo's etc. After that I will try to really kickstart this baby and find some crazy Japanese market to sell a million Woolfs. Which is plan B... ;-) And of course making a model for the iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy could be a plan, if there is demand.
